Tactical move against London - what blowback are the bombers hoping for? |
|
The attack wasn't random or opportunistic but a tactical move by whomever choreographed it.
What outcome or response are they counting on?
What would be the best case scenario in the minds of the perpetrators, relating to post-bombing reactions by Blair and other world leaders and the potential blowback from those reactions?

2. It was to inspire terror |
|
I don't think there was anything strategic or tactical beyond setting the idea in the heads of the people that they can do this anywhere any time.
Maybe I'm wrong though.

I have no answers. It seems like all bad no matter how I look at it. Maybe it was another bonehead move like the WTC attack.
Tagging the thread for later reading.

4. I'm sure they were trying to increase the support for the Brits to |
|
pull out of Iraq and Afghan. If they can get all support for the US to pull out, they can concentrate all their efforts on the US!

Possibly for a love one killed by coalition forces.
The idea is to get the British to stop killing more innocent civilians.

by chipping away the "coalition of the willing" The average Brit in the street already opposed to involvement in Iraq now their likely to put sufficient pressure on Blair(already weak) to actually get UK troops out of Iraq.

Three masked men in capes stole three endangered cotton-top Tamarin monkeys Thursday from the home of a primate expert, police said. These monkeys are made of solid gold and reportedly know the where-abouts of Osama bin Laden.
