Meanwhile, scores of innocent civilians are being killed...
in Iraq today thanks to American bullets, bombs, tanks, brass knuckles, attack dogs, etc.

Same as yesterday. Same as tomorrow.

That is all.

2. More like 600. Per day.
24,000 is a ridiculous underestimation of the Iraqi death toll. Iraqbodycount only tallies media reports.

A scientific, peer-reviewed poll found 100,000 to 200,000 Iraqis had been killed. That was a year ago, halfway through the war so far. So it'd be more like 200,000 to 400,000.

3. Not quite
The study was neither peer-reviewed nor scientific.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/10/29/iraq.deaths/

Although there is disagreement about its accuracy.

"An expert on study methods who was not involved with the research, said the approach the scientists took was a reasonable one to investigate the Iraq death toll."

"But Richard Peto, who is professor of medical statistics at Oxford University, cautioned AP the researchers may have zoned in on hotspots that might not be representative of the death toll across Iraq."

"The researchers called for further confirmation by an independent body such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, or the World Health Organization."

However, regardless of the actual number, it's still entirely too many and completely unacceptable.

5. No telling
Which number is most accurate is irrelevant. The number of Iraqi deaths caused by the US invasion should be zero. That said, it wasn't a scientific study done with completely random sampling, but some researches do feel it is fairly accurate.

" The researchers surveyed nearly 1000 Iraqi households in September, asking how many people lived in the home and how many births and deaths there had been since January 2002. They then compared the death rate among those households during the 15 months before the invasion with the 18 months after it, getting death certificates where they could."

11. The Lancet study was peer-reviewed and scientific.
Making it far more reliable than iraqbodycount and other such sources.

7. Now Karenina, America is killing to bring peace and spread democracy
Those damn evil-doers are just killing to spread terror.

Yeah, I typed that with a straight face.(Not)

Amazing isn't it? Torture is good if you torture the "enemy"...torture is bad if you torture the "hero"

innocent people dying is good if it's the "enemy".....innocent people dying is bad if they are seen as "allies"

How many people that disagreed with Bush's war died today?

How many that support it have joined the military today?

The sheer madness of it all....

8. It MUST have been Al-CIAda
(OOPS! Did I spell that right?) One poster here today wanted ALL MUSLIMS to take to the street and demonstrate against the tragic events in London. Guess he thinks they need to prove to Amurikkans that THEY are the "GOOD ONES." :eyes:

9. I saw that
and thought the same thing.

then I thought, if they took to the streets to "prove" their worth, it would only be to save their life - since some people have no problem attacking brown people on the street for just existing. And no one should have to do that...

I don't know who is behind the blasts in London - but I do know that giving into fear and hate....and buying the hype... only serves the purposes of Bush.

10. You're forgetting the Daily Show's patented Body Count Conversion Rate
2,000 Massacred Congolese = 500 Drowned Bangladeshis = 45 Fire-bombed Iraqis = 12 Car-bombed Europeans = 1 Snipered American
