...we wouldn't have to resort to even remotely thinking how this will effect us politically. Unfortunately, we don't get to make the rules -- but we do have to play by them if we want to win. Losing is not an alternative.
In a perfect world... hell... In a perfect world things like this wouldn't happen in the first place.

I am saying that Democrats need to get out there, condemn the attacks, say sympathetic words to those who are hurt and to the families who lost someone. Then they need to tie it all to Bush and make it his fault, by pointing to his failing foreign policies. They need to frame the debate so that it puts Bush on the defensive rather than the offensive.
Otherwise, Bush and his cronies are going to use it to prop themselves up. That is unacceptable.
