2. Boy, that was a tough choice

I went with "Bob" because I can hear the whole damn commercial in my head right now, and it's been weeks since my company took away our audio access.

They play the same ones over and over again. Anyone know why this is? If it's up to them they have more varied advertisement. I know all commercials are boring, but for listeners who don't always change stations between commercials, they might be more likely to stay on if they don't have to hear the same ones over and over again. The RW crap stations seem to have more varied commercials.

The new Geico one with the lady going on about "what I really love is my big, fat hog" is pretty lame too, and I usually like their commercials.

38. The juxtaposition of two commercials about men and their sons:

In one, the son is getting advice about how to treat women. "Listen to what irresponsible older boys say," the father counsels. The dialogue is is obviously meant to show what parents shouldn't say.

Now that is fine, but this commercial is juxtaposed with:

A commercial about being a father (or maybe it's a big brother) in which the father says things like, "Just pick up a lot of heavy things around her. Show her how strong you are. Grunt if you have to." But this one is meant to be serious.

Does this bother anyone else?

when I hear so many public service spots, that the bills will be paid. I dont know what I would do without AAR in this fucked up country right now.
There are some spots that I do not think should be on Air Anerica but I say pay the bills. Wendy the hypnotist for example claims to have the cure for drinking booze, after twenty years in AA I know that is bullcrap but we let the snake oil merchants make money off of peoples misery so that we can fight the bigger evil. I am way OK wirh that.

Who in the hell thought mind numbing, seizure inducing noise could sell a product? I hope that ad executive is out of a job right now. I've been grinding my teeth for several years now and last week my dentist suggested this particular bite guard and I refused. I turn off the radio the minute I hear the commercial and it usually stays off for a while after that. Just thinking about it gives me the willys.

sorry, AAR, but there are few, if any products you advertise, that I'd ever buy.

so, after listening for not that long I realized that their commercial formatting is always the same, for every show:

first commercial after the news lasts four minutes

then, the second break is always at 28 minutes after the hour--ALWAYS six minutes

next break is about 47-48 minutes after the hour--ALWAYS four minutes

news break almost always at 58 minutes after--ALWAYS eight minutes of news/commercials, after which the shows start at six minutes after

this works all the time.....try it---get a cheap timer and use it....you won't have to listen to those annoying get rich quick commercials ever again
