LOL - banned from my favorite message board
two strikes and I'm out.

First time I had posted a link to America blog when they had the uncencored pics of Jeff Gannon; OK I can see the reasoning that time, but they gave me another chance.

This time it was because I posted a link to that awesome picture of the redneck jumping in the mudpuddle from Huffington Post and I got banned permanantly because in the comments section below, someone used the word "ass" in one of the comments.

How Pathetic.

It wasn't because of the pic, it was because I linked to a site that "contained profanity."

"If you read it, it contains words not allowed on FW. It has been stated many times in OTPI that you are responsible to the links you post, and you posted it anyways. You were banned once and we gave you a second chance. This time your banning is permanent.

Thank you
Bryan
FatWallet.com"

Honestly, I think the real reason was because I was crushing all the rightwingers on the board continuously.

10. Fat Wallet was my favorite because it is tiny
It was like DU in the early days when you could have a few friends and recognize the other posters by name and sort of know their personality.

You have to go to the Politically Incorrect sub-board. It was basically created as a gutter to get that discussion off the main board, which is for bargain hunting.

14. You'll love this story...I'm self-banned.
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 11:53 PM by autorank
I'd picked up on the story about Gannon and thought that they were going to run a serious story exposing White House philandering and the whorish nature of the WH Press corp. I had no idea about America Blog other than it seemed leftie.

So the night before the morning of their big spread, I sent an associate of mine the link. He's a very decent guy, big Democrat, but personally conservative and very religious. I'm thinking, this is a momentous story and I'm giving him a real scoop (he's a news junkie).

So the next morning I get up at 9:00, the announced release time of the story. I'm horrified. It's nothing but naked, fucking Gannon everywhere. I was mortified. I feared that he would get on, look at this and think I was some sort of perv. So I called him up immediately and said, "I made a big mistake. That was the wrong site. Please just delete it." He responded that he was about to get on and look at it but was so overwhelmed by early morning work, he had not had a chance. He logged on, deleted it, and a few months later I told him the story.

I'll never recommend that site to anyone again for anything, although I do like your mud picture. Very tasteful.

On edit: I was also told on DKos that I left the most objectionable message the diary editor had ever seen. He has a major post saying that whenever there were too many people complaining about election fraud, DKos had to do "mental hygiene" to remove those with distorted thinking. I responded that that logic sounded just like the Third Reich rationale for "eugenics" and eliminating those who were in disagreement with them or of limited thinking capacity. I didn't even use the "Hitler" word (even though it was a very long thread). The pansy ass who posted the original message said it was just the worst thing he'd seen on DKos (he's a major ass sucker over there) and he pulled the damn message. I think the KOS people are a bunch of elitist crybabies without much of interest to say to anyone other than other elitist crybabies. But, hey, that's just my opinion.

16. that is a fiasco
I'm not going to shed a tear about a website that uses bogus reasons to ban people who bring their attention to information they don't like to hear.

Who ever heard of banning someone for a link? Most sites would simply delete the offending information, which they do there frequently.

17. At least they told you why they banned you
Charlotte.com banned me (and others) with no reason given. In fact, those cocksuckers don't even tell you you are banned. Their software is set up so that YOU can see your posts, but no one else can (suspiciously , you have to log off your account and sign in as guest to confirm your posts are not there to view). So over there at charlotte.com , if you're not getting any responses, you always have to be suspicious.
I quit donating to DU because they "reprimanded" me for supporting Ralph Nader. DU is starting to win me over again, but it will be a while before the donations start flowing again, haha. Anyone have another favorite msg board??

18. I'll reiterate that size is a critical factor
DU has grown pretty big. Things happen to quickly for me to keep up with, unless I were financially secure and could sit on the board all day and night. I just don't have time. Stuff happens so fast all you get is some hints that something happened during the day, but you don't quite know what it was.

I had an outrageous banning episode at capitalgrilling.com - I was perceived to be a hacker because I registered right after the hacker registered and my name matched that of a character in a work of fiction, so they assumed I was another account created by the hacker! It was a case of connecting dots that painted the WRONG PICTURE!

I look at DU for thoughts, but not for debate.
