3. Wow...Alan pre-empting Mike! That b-lows!
Well we have to change it..

I don't hate Alan. But in the liberal pecking order I place him last. He does get some outstanding guests. He is like an angel in hell, and seems to like it.

His show is not the worst liberal radio show. Is it?

8. Me too.. Billl Press has a new show starting soon, and Stepanie Miller
is great... I prefer them to Franken.. Kennedy's voice creeps me out, and I am not that fond of Randi's ego..I like Janeane, but I rarely listen anymore.. I'll stay with Sirius.. Buh-byeee AAR:)

My kids got me the whole shebang..new car stereo, Sirius subscription, home adapter kit.. I can't see dumping it because AAR decided to leave us in the dust..

Eventually those two will have to merge, and when they do, the deals will probably be even better

14. Same Here
I got the whole line of Sirius hardware - a new car radio, a boom box for home + an extra receiver for Mr. Suziq for his den.

Screw AAR - I love Sirius Left. Thom Hartmann (although for one hour only), Stephanie Miller (again, only one hour), Bill Press, etc.

I am hoping with the departure of AAR on Sirius channel 144, Sirius will broadcast Stephanie live at 9:00am Eastern and the full Thom Hartmann at 12 noon Eastern.

5. Screw AAR for leaving SIRIUS users. They're a bunch of shit heads!
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 12:45 AM by autorank
Oh, am I over stating the case. I think not.

SIRIUS has great music! Unbelievably great: Blues 29, Garage Channel (by little Stevie of the E Streed Band) 25, the Jazz suite of channels, the edgy new music, etc. etc.

A lot of people went to AAR by getting SIRIUS now they want us to swich. Fuck them! I'm just fine with Big Ed and the other Talk Left folks. I don't need to hear Franken's bloviating or any of that crap. They pulled a bait-and-switch. No wonder they're blowing a great opportunity.

7. Sirius didnt pay one dollar for Air America and lost out by not even
bidding for it with XM. Its a shame.

I'm going to keep both probably. I like SIrius Left and Out Q

9. Wow, have I been out of the loop!
I'm a devoted Sirius listener who originally signed up for Air America. That, and the exclusive NFL coverage. :-)

Since then, I've grown to love just about all their programming (especially The Spectrum!). I wasn't aware that Air America was leaving. Could anyone tell me when this is going to happen? Sirius Left will remain, won't it?

Luckily, my town finally has its own liberal talk radio station (Springer's home base, essentially), so I can always hear Springer and Franken there, but I'll really, really miss Randi. :-(

16. Absolutely!!!
I got Sirius for ARR, now they screw us by leaving!?!?!? I am going to miss Randi Rhodes and Mike Malloy, but I will have to get on without them. I have all the Sirius hardware at home and in my car, there is now way i am going to change now. Hopefully AAR will see the error they have made.

:grr:

12. I think in any case it's worth seeing what Sirius puts on 144 in response

to AAR leaving.

Depending on how they do things, Sirius listeners (especially those living near Air America terrestrial affiliates like I do), might have more choices to pick from in terms of progressive content. What I'm losing (Randi Rhodes at lunch time and a full three hours of Mike Malloy live in the evenings) I'm going to lose no matter what I do, so I might as well stick with Sirius and see what other new choices I get. I might look at making podcasting happen in my car if nothing else pans out (both XM and Sirius stick to only one left channel, as appears to be their only solid commitments at this point).

Check out this link that shows you what a Sirius listener might get if Sirius does the right things with a newer talk channel.

http://miken.best.vwh.net/talkradio/newlineups.html

That "special deal" that XM and AAR is giving out for switching Sirius users is a joke. I can find better deals as a non-Sirius subscriber on the net going through mysimon.com. If they were really smart, Air America would have worked to offer a deal on an Alpine unit that lets you get both Sirius and/or XM. XM might not have liked that "not locking in" their customers as much, but it would at least show respect to Sirius users provide them an ability to fall back to Sirius if XM offering didn't work out. It would show some confidence that Sirius users would want to move to XM and stay there for the quality of experience they judge to be better for progressive listeners. That's the kind of treatment I'd like from a business that wants to reward real loyal customers. The fact that they aren't doing anything close to this creative and instead have some cheap coupon deal shows this to be the scam of grabbing money and screwing listeners for what it is.

Is this the kind of service we could expect from XM?;)

18. Well, shit. I didn't know this. I, too, got Sirius primarily for AAR, but,
I have grown to love many of the other stations as well. The music kicks ass, and SiriusLeft is golden. I'm real pissed I'm losing out on Randi, she was really the only show worth listening to on AAR anyway. Franken was OK, I couldn't care less about the others. I need more info on this, where can I go?

Maybe now they'll play the entire Thom Hartmann program...

19. Basically 144 goes off on July 11 on Sirius
Will they only have one left station? Nobody seems to know...

I went and bought XM. They need to have everybody on Life. I don't believe these "stations" cost very much at all for them to just add one more. Get rid of some useless music station and give us EVERYTHING!

AS for XM they have problems too. We will know for sure very soon

20. 144 will be a liberal talk channel, but...
no word yet on the lineup. I'm hoping Thom Hartmann will get his own full time slot.
