Terrorism against the US and in the world is at an all time high since Bush got in office.

Did they lie in wait until a wimp got in office who brought in the gang couldn't shoot straight? Osama must have been laughing his ass off in November when the stupid half of America installed Idiot Son again.

2. Terrorists and Bush need each other...
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 10:49 AM by marmar
It's a co-dependent relationship. One cannot thrive without the other. Terrorists give him something to tie his fraudulent wars on, he gives them an adversary to hate and play against. If he were really advocating fairness and peace in the Middle East, it would take away some of their motivation. He just sharpens their resolve.

7. Exactly. The biggest benefit to drug cartels was the "War On (Some) Drugs"
Likewise, purveyors of terror, hate, and intolerance are wallowing in a Bull Market of violence and predation.

3. That still doesn't sit right with me.
Bin Laden releases a tape four days before the election? How convenient. Kerry even said that is what lost him the race. How many times does it need to be spelled out? The Bushes have connections with Bin Ladens and terrorists.

4. He plays into their hands...
...by making everything black and white, us and them. He plays the stereotypical greedy American cowboy stereoutype to a tee, and invaded Iraq on false pretenses, just as Bin Laden predicted he would. The extremists don't want peace, they want a holy war, and Bush delivered one.

5. Because it's personal with these Motherf****ers...
The families are intertwined. It's Shakespeare writ large and all the world's their stage.
It all boils down to personalities in the end. Dynasties. Disgusting, and we pay the price for their madness and petty rivalries.

6. That's Somewhat Inaccurate
Terrorists have been emboldened ever since the first Gulf War of 1990. That stupid war kicked up a hornet's nest of worldwide terror. Because of Clinton's brilliant skills, we were able to thwart most of the domestic attacks except for the 1993 WTC bombing, but internationally they hit us in Somalia, the US Sudanese embassy, and the USS Cole. Then 9/11. Then Madrid. Now yesterday London, and that's not to mention the daily attacks in Afghanistan and Iraq.

U.S. military intervention in the Gulf and the Middle East is the single biggest reason why these attacks are happening. We mistakenly believe that there's some kind of end point to wars. We believe that it's about taking territory and establishing democratic governments.

The terrorists are fighting an entirely different war. Their war is based on grudges and revenge. Also, they know that they'll never win by taking on our military directly. So, they pick out civilian targets in order to inflict damage. To them, there's no end point until the U.S. military completely withdraws from the Middle East.
