IS JERRY SPRINGER THE DUMBEST PERSON ON EARTH? |
|
this guy knows NOTHING>>>>>>>>>>>> just listening to him now, his callers are so well versed and he knows nothing... he does not know about Operation Northwoods, and does not know about the simulated war game hijackings of planes on 9/11...hey what the hell does this bozo know? and why is he on Air America with such a limited knowledge? My God, can't we get someone on the air who understands this stuff?
Any person on DU has more knowledge than this dumb box of rocks

for that reason plus his rants sound rehearsed and phony.
I miss the Lizzbians. Unfiltered was much better than Springer.

Perhaps what you think is common knowledge isn't common at all.

I mean, is HE the voice of progressive thought, given the rhetoric of his talk show? I always associate him with "girls who slept with their mother's boyfriends and then gave birth to his child".

Why did Air America choose someone who has profited from human misery and pissed in the cultural trough. AA are idiots for getting this empty gasbag a mic.
In San Francisco the AA station decided to stop tape-delaying morning sedition and so it's on from 3am to 6am. and we get to drive to work with the paragon of progressive causes, Jerry Springer.
I despise that man, not only for his crappy exploitive TV shows, but for his vain attempt at pennance.

However, for better or worse.. doing the show throwing chairs and having My Mam'ma is a hoe slut who slept wit my Man, is the stigma he carries.
Plus having the audience already, is a bigger motivator, isn't it?

I know a few other people who stopped listening to AA altogether when he and the non AA guy Big Eddie Schultz got 6 hours of mid day airtime.

It's also too bad your local station is playing Schultz. One would think that SF (my home town) would be hipper than that.

24. I like him better than Stephanie Miller |
|
in fact I listen to him through my computer because she is on my local area. She is smart, but I find her sillness to be obnoxious and I can't stand her for more than 15 minutes a day. Jerry is gentle with people. He doesn't talk about the most controversial stuff, but neither does Al Franken. I think there are a lot of people who might listen to him because they watched him on TV, and if he can bring them into the fold, I'm happy.
I can't stand Ed Schultz. 5 minutes with him and I am done. He is also on my local AAR and I would much rather be listening to Randi or Rachel. The thing is, there are probably some people who will be convinced to move to the left by listening to him. So, I'm glad he is on, I just don't want to have to listen to him myself!

Stephanie Miller. Springer is CLUELESS. In his defense, he DID mention the PNAC one day, but apparently that was only because it was put before him to read. It is quite clear he doesn't do much research on his own, as if he did, he would discover much more. What a waste.

What little I've heard from Springer I've liked. He doesn't need to be an encyclopedia of knowledge. Instead I suppose he wants to use his mind to synthesize information he is presented in the proper manner. Above all, his most important job is to synthesize high ratings.

32. He's pretty good, I think. He's going for a mainstream audience |
|
The old morning crew, I thought, was unlistenable. Springer seems to be aiming at a mainstream audience, rather than cheerleading for a specialized audience, like say, Mike Malloy does. (I love Mike Malloy, just saying his audience is going to be the minority who actually knows what he's talking about.)
Springer probably knows all the conspiracy stuff (C'mon, look at the kind of stuff he's made a living dealing with), but if he starts getting into that, he's going to lose his mainstream appeal and get labeled a specialist. AAR's original purpose wasn't to cheerlead for us, but to spread the liberal message mainstream. I don't want a cheerleader--I ain't no hollaback dude!
It's like listening to a history professor teach a basic western civ course. The prof knows that what he is teaching is oversimplified, but he's teaching to people without the background to understand the complex stuff.
Also, at the risk of getting flamed, most people don't believe MIHOP, and even LIHOP is extreme for some. Springer doesn't want to give opponents the ammo to call him a wacko. If you listen to Rush or O'Reilly, they both pretend not to know things when they don't want to get into it, too.
That's my take on him.

I don't think Jerry has entirely ruled out a run for office -- maybe vs. Voinovich in '08 (I think he's up for re-election that year). If he can rehabilitate his image during the next few years, he can be a viable candidate. But going from mud-wrestling to conspiracy theories isn't much of a step up.

<<<Flamesuit On>>>>
Can we give up on a 40 year old document that didn't result in anything? We have more conspiracy theories here than George Norry and Art Bell put together.
I know some of you actually believe this stuff, and maybe I'm wrong, but appearing to middle america as a whole bunch of lefty conspiracy nuts doesn't seem the way to win support.
This stuff belongs on Coast to Coast with Art Bell, not in everyday political topics.

Not everyone wants to listen to a screaming conspiracy theorist as the host on morning radio. Some do, and I'm sure if enough do, that he will be replaced with someone who can tap into the large conspiracy theorist audience. I'm not saying that Springer is great or even good, although I think for the most part he lets his callers make their points and is polite to them, which is somewhat refreshing. So when someone makes some unsubstantiated internet rumor conspiracy claim, he could say "That is all true!" and you would be happy but just as many I would guess, would turn off the station; if he called them nuts, the opposite would happen. Personally I don't find Randi Rhodes to be intelligent or entertaining. Often times she seems to miss the points made by her callers, and her response when that happens is normally to start yelling at them. Not my cup of tea, but that's just me.

Maybe you should call Air America and get your own show, since you're a big SuperGenius and all.
Most people don't know about Operation Northwoods. Are they all idiots, below you, to be mocked and derided for not knowing what they do?
Do you know how to determine the Reynolds number of a Newtonian fluid flowing in a pipe? No? MY GOD YOU'RE AN IDIOT!! It's in every fluid mechanics text in the world! The information is out there!
I know that the Malloy fans of the world can't stand it when there's someone on the radio whose talent isn't screaming and ranting as loudly as they can, and lapsing into melodrama and hyperbole at every possible moment, but the fact is, more people will sit down and listen to Springer than to Randi Rhodes or the aforementioned Jackass. And they will hear, bit by bit, the truth. And they will come around.
But I guess that's not good enough, is it?

39. Yeah... he is pretty good at avoiding polarization |
|
He gets a lot of right wingnuts... doesn't handle them in the best way... but tries to be fair and frankly... he doesn't call anyone names... refuses to go down that road... I say keep him.. he is good at synthesizing the news and really creating a one topic based show....
Sure I can't always handle it. He is too nice... but I think he is good for a lot of people who get turned off by alot of details and flaming.
I am surprised he didn't know about Operation Northwoods, because he seemed to have been REALLY active in that era....
He is probaly my least favorite... but I have to give him credit.
