I'm beginning to think these are indeed the End Times |
|
only not in the way that Falwell, Dobson, et al talk about. We are going to be a LONG time overcoming the London bombings, and all the Neanderthal freepers are screaming that this is proof that Iraq was behind 9/11. Nobody even bothers to make any sense out of what happens anymore, and the biggest force going on in the US now is the Christian Reconstructionists-who have perverted the message of the Christ to evil. There is no question that they are instruments of Satan. I honestly didn't believe in Satan before, but I now see clearly that they are indeed the forces of darkness.

It's a new way of thinking. And we've been trained to not even look for it.

the devil doesn't have red skin, cloven hooves and little pointy antlers.
Nope...he is a smiling white guy in a suit and tie who tells you everything you want to hear but it's always a lie.
...sigh

5. But I bet that it wasn't even |

Iraqis who did the London bombings. I bet it was people with connections to countries that Bush calls his "allies" (you know the ones that Bush likes to kiss their leaders).

6. The Bible does say that in the End, |

a spirit of delusion will engulf the earth, so that people believe lies and view evil as good.
Well, duh.

The Bible warns about false prophets in the End Times, and it's hard for me to imagine a more false prophet than these CR leaders like Dobson and Falwell and Robertson. One of the ways it was said that the huge numbers of false prophets could be determined at the End Times was that they would misquote the Bible. These clowns clearly take biblical quotes and twist them to their own ends.

7. The RW Ext. is VERY LOUD, but not as big as you think! |
|
Just because they say they have all this influence, doesn't make it so. ShrubCo energized them and this time they DID go out and vote...they usually don't bother!
I hear a lot of ordinary Pubs saying these people are crazy too!
I think we should holler louder than them, and make sure EVERYONE really hears the insane things they're promoting!
They've had their hay day, and they got the idiot Pres. that they wanted. I think their influence is waning.
Keep your eye on who the nominee(s) are for SCOTUS I suspect there really are going to be two. Maybe not right now, but before the end of summer. I suspect Shrub WILL nominate ONE RWer, bit I bet not both. The RW wants it ALL!
Let's see what happens.

10. Naw. We're in difficult times. We'll muddle our way through it. |

I would suggest avoiding giving power to these destructive elements of our country. Let's hold on to and unite our power to overcome their darkness.

12. I STILL don't believe in Satan... |

But if the Reconstructionists/Dominionists NEED a "Satan", I'm quite sure they could invent one that would pass muster for the gullible multitudes...
THEY are their own "Satan".

Moonbats on the right read the rantings of drug addled goat herders from 2000 years ago, decide it must be truth, interpret it to fit their agenda, then set about making certain it comes true.

LOL. I had a friend that was multi lingual and always used to take Biblical texts translating from the original Hebrew and Aramaic and say, "here it is for a Greek audience, here it is for a Roman audience, here it is for a Pagan audience, and then, this is my interpretation." His interpretation would be inclusive of the best of divine humor and tragedy believe it or not.
As for the Book of Revelations, he always said it read like someone's bad medieval mushroom trip. The ironic image of all these holy roller RWer rapture ready freaks, hell bent on global annhialation so they can get raptured being based on a bad medieval mushroom is completely beyond absurd. That is, if it wasn't so incredibly pathetic.

It's most likely the beginning of the end of the Oil Age, that's for sure.
It is almost certainly the End of the American Century...PNAC notwithstanding. I don't think the imperialist ambitions of a few nutcases can really hold together in the face of massive public disenchantment. Enough people will soon be very tired of the United States' foreign adventures that the imperialists will have no choice but to withdraw. America is a declining power...
Anyway, I like to think that every end is also a beginning.
I'm sure things will get worse before they get better, though, and Americans will have to learn to live without most of the luxuries they have gotten used to (even the have-nots in this country live more luxuriously than most medieval kings...e.g. electric power, television, etc...if we don't figure out some kind of answer to the energy question, we'll lose all of that in the next century).
Interesting Times, at any rate.
