Brit Hume wants to make a few bucks on the London bombings.
Un-fucking-believable

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/featuredposts.html#a003813

I sent him the following:

Dear Mr. Hume,
Congratulations on uttering what may be the single most callous statement in the history of broadcast journalism. The death toll from the London carnage is now at 50 and rising, but who cares? The futures were tanking and you saw an opportunity to make a few bucks. Have you ever witnessed a traumatic amputation, Brit? Messy business, but fuck it, you have a portfolio to worry about. If, in an unlikely fit of introspection, you are ever moved to wonder why FoxNews is so universally despised, and why "Fair and Balanced" is nothing more than the punchline to a joke, just grab some popcorn and replay the tape.
Sincerely,

2. He said it would be a good time to pick up some stock market bargains
because the market would surely go down.

3. When he first heard the news ...
he noted that futures were down and he thought "Hmmm... this would be a good time to buy." By his own words, that was his first thought!

4. The joke's on Hume, not us. He'd lose money if he did what he
says he would do right now.

The ones who will make the money are the contrarian-type investors/traders who already purchased or sold futures and/or options days/weeks/months before this time. Some will make the money strictly on volatility, others will make it as the prices rise or fall, etc.

Brit Hume is nothing more than a greedy pig, and for folks like him there is a saying: Bulls get some, bears get some, pigs get slaughtered.

5. Hume causes skin to crawl, his worse IMO was comparing
death toll in Iraq to crime/traffic fatalities, in order, of course, to downplay them for * A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G for his bloodthrirsty, moneyhungry, powermad & fearful leader

7. You know why I love FOX news?
I actually don't watch them but reading this stuff..and seeing the little piece on Democracy Now this morning has me thinking I love them.

Because they are the real face behind the mask. And here it has slipped. ALL they care about is propping up war and the neo-cons and their master, Bush. Death is necessary for this task as they have told us. Terror wakes people up to kill more people! As Martha Stewart would say, "It's a good thing."

And if you can make a few bucks, well, God Bless America. That is the theme of Halliburton is it not?

Unlike CNN or any other semi-respectable news, they tell what's truly in their black hearts. They even use simple and clear language. It's downright CRUDE. And we on DU are confirmed in knowing we have been correct about their intentions and true priorities all along.
