British MP Galloway Tells Blair and Bush To Resign

July 8, 2005

Douglas Maher - All Headline News Staff Reporter

London, England (AHN) - Anti-War protestors along with Repsect MP for Bethal Green and Bow George Galloway (an open critic of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq) called for the the resignation of British Prime Minister Tony Blair and President George W Bush in light of Thursday's terrorist bombings in London.

<clip>

Galloway states, "If we allow this despicable act of mass murder to be used as justification for more despicable acts of mass murder visited by us on them they will seek to inflict another act of mass murder on us and that dismal cycle of death and destruction will continue."

Galloway adds, "We have to put into reverse the policies which have led us to this."

Precisely, Mr Galloway.

When heads of State intentionally deceive their citizens as to wage war of aggression they automatically establish the framework for those they are attacking to respond violently.

The cycle of perpetual war accelerates; the powerful expand their empire; the weapons makers become even wealthier; and the excuse to enter the next cycle is guaranteed.

End Bu$h, Blair nuclear imperialism; we've had enough killing, torture and hatred on this planet.

Peace.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - How ever long it takes, the day must come when tens of millions of caring individuals peacefully but persistently defy the dictator, deny the corporatists their cash flow, and halt the evil being done in Iraq and in all the other places the Bu$h neoconster regime is destroying civilization and the environment in the name of "America."

3. He was on C-span earlier
It was BBC Tonight or some such program. And he was giving hell to the interviewer who was trying to give him hell. The interviewer was trying to tell Galloway to tone down his remarks. So, Galloway said his people agreed with him and he didn't need an interviewer or anyone to tell him to tone it down. He answers to his constituents and everyone he met (hundreds of people) today said they agreed with Galloway. Galloway told the guy that if he didn't live in his "beltway bubble" he would see that people agreed with him (Galloway). He was pissed.

What a great individual!

6. Congressman Hinchey: ""We are in danger of losing our republic"
A report in the Times Herald-Record on a meeting Congressman Maurice Hinchey had with over 500 people from the 22nd Congressional District, New York, on the evening of July 7, 2005.

Hinchey rails at Bush regime, Urges action over Iraq war

By Dave Richardson

July 8, 2005

<clip>

"We are in danger of losing our republic," he said. He was far from joking.

<clip>

The (Downing Street) memos, which have reportedly been authenticated by British officials, paint a picture of a Bush administration apparently set on war with Iraq long before the decision to invade was supposedly made and bent on "fixing the facts and the intelligence around the policy."

<clip>

Hinchey said Bush planned to oust Saddam Hussein from the earliest days of his administration and then "twisted and distorted the facts around a policy decision that had already been made."

<clip>

He said the failure of Republicans in Congress to "act responsibly" by allowing serious inquiries into the issues raised by the memos was tantamount to a conspiracy between the legislative and executive branches of government, in direct contradiction to the instructions of the Constitution.

Congressman Hinchey is speaking truth to his constituents. At least, we have some folk 'within the beltway' who are still committed to the Constitution and to just and humane behavior.

8. Galloway's recent rhetoric is a perfect textbook for Dem reps..
This is what we should have been hearing, every day in every medium available, since the Bush coup in 2000. Every person in this country should be able to repeat, verbatim, this message from being exposed to it everywhere they go.

Instead, they are able to repeat GOP talking points verbatim. The heroic status Galloway has achieved here in such a short time should tell all silent Dems that this approach *works*. Then again, I'm assuming the goals of the progressive community and the Democratic party are one in the same. This is obviously not the case much of the time.

19. I saw him on the tube, BBC Newsnight, say "shoot the terrorists"
But I also see him fosering the debate that needs to be aired:

I've seen London based Islamic radicals interviewed recently on the tube showing a territorial brand of Islam that seeks to subjugate the West. The West can simply pull up the immigration barriers, so I don't see this stern 'bonfire of the vanities' type of religion winning many converts outside of where it already is preponderant.

However, I am also not in favor of Zionism, either Jewish or Christian Zionism, based upon the doctrine of a Third Temple -- please read PBS's

'Impact of Millennium on the Holy Land'
January 7, 2000
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/week319/cover...

to see how volatile this is especially since this fuels Muslim fanaticism.

An Islamic nor Judeo-Christian 'real estate' based faith doesn't do anyone any good in the long run, just more excuses for shoot 'em ups.

But I do seem to think that this 'false flag' act worked in the Bologna Train Station bombing of August 2, 1980 if I recal. Originally the (gasp !) Red Brigades did it, only to find some time later that neo-fascists with funding ties to the CIA did it.

Don't JUMP to any conclusions, however convenient.

It seems the Left Behind crowd of Bush followers have made full use of this though:

Their beliefs are bonkers, but they are at the heart of power
US Christian fundamentalists are driving Bush's Middle East policy
http://www.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,3604,1195568,...

Yet this eschatology is based upon faulty scriptural views based on a convenient reading of the bible in the 1500's during the CounterReformation --see
http://www.aloha.net/~mikesch/antichrist.htm

Terrorism isn't exactly an act designed to win converts. It's designed to stir up the already committed. However, with Islam's present state in the world, Bernard Lewis' book What Went Wrong and Irshad Manji's The Trouble With Islam may end up selling more copies than Korans. What do you think ?

25. Galloway created a new Party it's called RESPECT (check this out.)
He was interviewed on DemocracyNow! again today, and because his message is so powerful and inspiring, i did a quick google on his bio and this is what i found: http://www.respectcoalition.org

Respect The Unity Coalition:

Respect Equality Socialism Peace Environment Community Trade Unionism

This new party apparently is growing rapidly, if the glowing discriptions are accurate - and as anyone can see, Galloway is a straight up progressive, passionate about civil liberties, socio-economic and racial justice, is anti-globalisation, anti-privatisation and pro union.

Check out the banner at the top of the page, showing anti-war rally with a new twist on the spelling of Blair's name... "Bliar" ..

31. Huffington: "How convenient for the president’s apologists ....
.... to use the attacks to absolve him of his responsibility to deal with thorny issues he doesn’t really want to.

<clip>

Wait a minute, if we let terrorists set the international agenda doesn’t that mean, you know, that they win?

The London bombings will not make global warming go away. The London bombings will not make the crises in Africa go away. They also won’t make it okay for Bush to appoint right-wing extremists to the Supreme Court or make his plan to privatize Social Security acceptable or make John Bolton a good choice for the UN.

And they sure as hell don’t make Bush's lack of a plan for Iraq any less of a disaster for America.

Indeed, it’s precisely because the war on terror is -- and was, even before the London bombings -- the number one issue that we have to have an exit strategy for Iraq. If Bush and his backers in the media are really serious about the war on terror, ......

32. Galloway what a brave outstanding man !
snip from DemocracyNow!

JUAN GONZALEZ: I'd like to get back to the whole issue of the possible targeting of Muslims in England. George Galloway, you represent a district that has a large Muslim population. The Islamic Human Rights Commission yesterday warned London Muslims to stay home, fearing a backlash, and the Guardian has learned that within hours of the attacks, 30,000 abusive and threatening emails were sent to the Muslim Council of Britain's website. Your reaction to the possible targeting of Muslims in England?

GEORGE GALLOWAY: Well, I'm just looking at my own computer screen now. I'll just give you the title of one of them: "Pig Islamists." And that sort of person is out there. But I must say to you that I think the British people are bigger than that, and I disagree with the advice, if that was what it was, that Muslims should stay indoors. In fact, they should unite with the rest of us in absolute rejection of terrorism and of war. We must be tough on terrorism and tough on the causes of terrorism. It's really basic common sense. It's not left wing, it's not rocket science.

It's just basic common sense that if you don't drain the swamp that I have talked about, if you don't intervene to stop the ongoing calvary of the Palestinian people, who for 50 years have been dispossessed, sent to the four corners of the world as refugees, regularly massacred, occupied, if you don't do something about the hundreds of thousands of foreign soldiers occupying Iraq, if you don't stop propping up the puppet presidents and the corrupt kings who rule the Muslim world almost without exception from one end to the other, then you lay bare your double standards, your hypocrisy, when you talk about liberty.

What our leaders want is liberty for us, but only up to a point, and they're ready to take that away if it suits them, but no liberty for anybody else. And the people in the Muslim world can see it very clearly. They know that nobody gave a toss about the thousands who were killed in Fallujah. Nobody in the British Parliament raised any qualm about the American armed forces reducing Fallujah to ash and killing thousands of people. Yet, they go into the kind of emoting that we saw yesterday about the deaths in London.

36. MP Galloway: "It is the politicians who are to blame for this....
Speaking at a news conference near the London bus explosion, Mr Galloway said the anti-war movement had a duty to speak out against the policies he said were to blame for the spiral of violence.

"We have to put into reverse the policies which have led us to this."

Mr Galloway said the safety of the British public would continue to be threatened unless the government changed course over its policies in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"If we start to change political course we will start to be more safe. It is the politicians who are to blame for this, not the police, not the intelligence services, because they warned us about this." He described Osama bin Laden as a "medieval savage" and said he would only be isolated if there was no "swamp of grievance".
