I like having a working television and not one with about 17 bullets in it.

9. I'm praying for my mother-in-law
I forget the name of the storm now, but I'm sure many of you remember the one that hit the Mobile / Pensacola area late in the season last year. Well, she lives in Pensacola. She and her boyfriend boarded up the house and tied everything down that could blow away or brought it inside, but they did NOT evacuate. I was panicky about that all day and watched the TV in the break room at my job every chance I could get. Turns out that while both neighbors had trees fall upon their houses and sustained a few thousand dollars worth of damage each, her house only had about 5 shingles blow off the roof. That has all since been repaired.

I'm assuming that since this is a similar storm, they'll be okay once again. I sure hope so. I wouldn't want to put up with that twice in less than a year. No way.

11. I'm in Southwest Louisiana...
so I seem to be in the clear for now. But we'll see. Let's hope the damage is minimal. I pray for the well being of all my gulf coast brothers and sisters.

13. I'm in Clearwater
We started getting strong bands last night. Seems pretty calm now. But, it's got the whole day to reorganize. The Gulf is 91 degrees.

I wish they'd cancel a DEC meeting in Land O' Lakes this morning.
