Son says Malone hit him in '02
Incident was reported to Job & Family Services

By Sharon Coolidge
Enquirer staff writer

Cincinnati City Councilman Sam Malone's son said Friday that his father beat him with a belt in 2002 - prompting a call from a school official to Hamilton County's child protection workers, who investigated.

Malone's son called his father a liar in an interview with The Enquirer on Friday and in an e-mail he wrote to WCPO-TV(Channel 9) on July 1, detailing the 2002 allegation.

"He knows about this abuse with a belt. It was at my old school,'' the e-mail states. "I went to school with the bruises and showed them to my teacher. ... The school call 241-KIDS and they took pictures of my right leg where I had a cut for a very long time.

"My dad soon pulled me out of the school and I got another bad whooping,'' the e-mail continued.

Malone, a Republican councilman seeking re-election, has declined to talk specifically about the May incident. But he has maintained that parents have the right and responsibility to discipline their children.

2. malone is an a**hole...
he also fought the gay rights issue in Cincinnati, along with, sadly, the Black clergy. They portrayed it as a gay marriage issue, when really it was to fight discrimination in the workplace.

3. Is Malone a Ken Blackwell disciple?
Unfortunately, Blackwell has left quite a "legacy" to Cincinnati politics.
