Or at least that's what one LTTE writer claims in today's Cincy Enquirer. I normally try to ignore such ignorant spoutings in the LTTE pages, but this one is worth a good debunking!

The link is: http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050709/EDIT0202/507090329

There's also a leadoff LTTE (in large, bold type, no less) blaming Jimmy Carter for the unrest and terrorism from the M.E.

8. You can't let it go unanswered
too many times we let these things go unchallenged - and, now people believe that the Sudan offered Osama's head on a platter to Clinton 3 times, but was refused.

19. In the culture of prison
a lie twice repeated is accepted as verified fact; this same disordered thinking is becoming too common in the greater society. I agree fully that this LTTE should be answered.

20. NO, That autistic character in the film "Rain Man" had a TRUE gift....
I am only "gifted" enough to be
unable to hold a job!

I have about 3/4 of a "GIFT",
And I assure you that it is much worse then no GIFT at all.

But regardless of that:
THANKS for the compliment; I am happy that someone enjoyed seeing my artwork.

4. Holy crap!!!

from the LTTE:

<... snip>
Quite the opposite is occurring. Cohen doesn't let the facts get in the way of a good Bush-bashing. Bush never tied Saddam Hussein to 9/11
and has stated the opposite. The facts are that al-Qaida perpetrated
9/11 on us. Saddam and his government had ties to many terrorists,
including al-Qaida. It's the mainstream (liberal) media twisting the
president's words in hopes they can fool the simpleton Americans into
turning against him.

We are fighting the war on terrorism in Iraq because of 9/11, and
don't let the lying liberals confuse you.
<....>

WTF?

"bush never tied Saddam... Saddam and his government had ties
to many terrorists, including al-Qaida."

Just how do these two stmts, listed in the space of only
32 words NOT contradict each other??? How does this person keep
their head from exploding?

9. Here is a good site:
http://www.bushoniraq.com/bush1.html

Bush ties Iraq to 9/11 when announcing major combat operations are over in Iraq:

"The battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began on September the 11, 2001 -- and still goes on. That terrible morning, 19 evil men -- the shock troops of a hateful ideology -- gave America and the civilized world a glimpse of their ambitions. They imagined, in the words of one terrorist, that September the 11th would be the 'beginning of the end of America.' By seeking to turn our cities into killing fields, terrorists and their allies believed that they could destroy this nation's resolve, and force our retreat from the world. They have failed."

10. two more quotes
"The liberation of Iraq is a crucial advance in the campaign against terror. We've removed an ally of al Qaeda, and cut off a source of terrorist funding. And this much is certain: No terrorist network will gain weapons of mass destruction from the Iraqi regime, because the regime is no more."

http://www.bushoniraq.com/bush2.html

and, prior to the invasion:
"The regime . . . has aided, trained and harbored terrorists, including operatives of al Qaeda. The danger is clear: using chemical, biological or, one day, nuclear weapons, obtained with the help of Iraq, the terrorists could fulfill their stated ambitions and kill thousands or hundreds of thousands of innocent people in our country, or any other."

13. He just has to read the Oct 2002 Cincinnati speech the Texas Tard gave
The linkage was never direct, but was done by carefully saying the two close together to get guilt by association.

I think Randi Rhodes was playing some hillbilly congressman in North Carolina use this shtick talking to a reporter: "the terrorist were helped by people like Saddam."

Which means what? Muslims? Arabs? Guys with mustaches?

Here's Bush doing it:

WHITE HOUSE TRANSCRIPT:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021007-8.html

President Bush Outlines Iraqi Threat
Cincinnati Museum Center - Cincinnati Union Terminal
Cincinnati, Ohio
October 7, 2002

We also must never forget the most vivid events of recent history. On September the 11th, 2001, America felt its vulnerability -- even to threats that gather on the other side of the earth. We resolved then, and we are resolved today, to confront every threat, from any source, that could bring sudden terror and suffering to America.

***
... He has ordered chemical attacks on Iran, and on more than forty villages in his own country. These actions killed or injured at least 20,000 people, more than six times the number of people who died in the attacks of September the 11th....

***

We know that Iraq and the al Qaeda terrorist network share a common enemy -- the United States of America. We know that Iraq and al Qaeda have had high-level contacts that go back a decade. Some al Qaeda leaders who fled Afghanistan went to Iraq. These include one very senior al Qaeda leader who received medical treatment in Baghdad this year, and who has been associated with planning for chemical and biological attacks. We've learned that Iraq has trained al Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases. And we know that after September the 11th, Saddam Hussein's regime gleefully celebrated the terrorist attacks on America.

Iraq could decide on any given day to provide a biological or chemical weapon to a terrorist group or individual terrorists. Alliance with terrorists could allow the Iraqi regime to attack America without leaving any fingerprints.

Some have argued that confronting the threat from Iraq could detract from the war against terror. To the contrary; confronting the threat posed by Iraq is crucial to winning the war on terror. When I spoke to Congress more than a year ago, I said that those who harbor terrorists are as guilty as the terrorists themselves. Saddam Hussein is harboring terrorists and the instruments of terror, the instruments of mass death and destruction. And he cannot be trusted. The risk is simply too great that he will use them, or provide them to a terror network.

Terror cells and outlaw regimes building weapons of mass destruction are different faces of the same evil. Our security requires that we confront both. And the United States military is capable of confronting both.

***

Some citizens wonder, after 11 years of living with this problem, why do we need to confront it now? And there's a reason. We've experienced the horror of September the 11th. We have seen that those who hate America are willing to crash airplanes into buildings full of innocent people. Our enemies would be no less willing, in fact, they would be eager, to use biological or chemical, or a nuclear weapon.

Knowing these realities, America must not ignore the threat gathering against us. Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof -- the smoking gun -- that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud.

15. True. The 'connection' has always been nuanced
Given Mr. Bush's expressed distaste for nuance, we must assume that this is deliberate. He has always known that there is no connection between Saddam and Osama; he has always known that invading Iraq was not part of the war on terror.
