I always love to see that tool David Brooks :sarcasm:. He just HAD to sneak in there that Joe Wilson "writes for The Nation."

is when Brooks makes it out like it was some offhand comment. I would answer Brooks by asking him to look at Rove's track record.

Brooks is well trained. He knows he has to smear Wilson as a partisan leftist wacko, so he associates him with the Nation, which the brain-dead Repugs consider a far-left rag.
What Shields needed to do was counter the smear by mentioning some of Karl Rove's associations, like his past link to Novak. Of course, this he was too chickenshit to do.
Ironically, I seem to recall on the back of an issue of The Nation a few years back an ad for FAIR which read "I'm not a liberal, but I play one on TV." I know there was a photo of Shields - I don't refember who the other guy pictured was.
