Michael Moore is at it again...
Read in my paper this morning...

From my local paper: (Midwestern Missouri, by the way)

A film festival organized by left-wing director MM has some right-wing competition.

A local activist and a conservative group from TX (figures) said Wed. they were putting together an alternative to the Traverse City Film Festival, which Moore and residents of this Lake Michigan community are organizing.

"People are fed up and tired with the extreme left-wing radical fringe - America haters, family haters, Christian haters," said Genie Aldrick, a resident of nearby Suttons Bay and founder of the Transverse Bay Freedom Film Festival. :spank:

She tried unsuccessfully last month to dissuade the city commission from letting Moore's group show films in a municipal waterfront park.

From Moore, "I like it when Republicans take ideas of mine," said Moore. "I have a few more where those came from, if they'd like to sit down and talk."

HA HA HA HA - Moore rocks! We need him to surface NOW! :yourock:

4. What would the Republicans do without us?
Who would they blame for their mistakes?

Whose ideas would they copy?

they would be lost without us and they should not forget it....

5. What just kills me...
Here I sit, a 32 year old mother of two in a relatively small Midwestern Missouri town. I don't care about family? I don't care about Christians? I don't care about America?

Why the F*** do I come to DU every day and learn the truth? I am of the ones they THINK are one THEIR side. WRONG! I am a pissed-off, mid-american, mother who ONLY wants the best for her children.

THEY ARE NOT MY PEOPLE!

6. They hate us for our free speech
I can't wait to see the turn out for their film fest. If its anything like the Freeper rallies in DC, all six of them might show up.

7. Perhaps the real truth is that
"People are fed up and tired with the extreme right-wing radical bigots - America destroyers, people haters, Fundamentalist lunatics,"?

I'd like to know, to make sure it's on my BOYCOTT list the next time I'm in Suttons Bay (a beautiful community, in spite of this right wing tool)

Michigan Conservatives Challenge to Michael Moore at Traverse City with Freedom Film Fest
GOP Vixen Blogs and Traverse Bay Freedom Film Fest ^ | July 2, 2005 | Bridgett Johnson

Posted on 07/02/2005 6:23:57 PM PDT by GoldwaterBooster

GOP Vixen is proud to exclusively break this story of The Traverse Bay Freedom Film Fest days before the official press conference:

On Friday, Michael Moore began selling tickets for his inaugural heartland film fantasy, the Traverse City Film Festival in Northern Michigan. Moore plans on showing 30 films at four venues from July 27-31, hoping to "save this art form," he told the Traverse City Record Eagle.

Moore swore that he was just out to show great films; his lineup announced Friday includes pedophile drama "The Woodsman," "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room," "The Assassination of Richard Nixon," an Iraq documentary called "Gunner Palace," a "class-conscious drama" called "Human Resources," a documentary on 9/11, and a retelling of "Les Miserables" with Nazis. Also on the bill is a film called "Land of Plenty," about a "security-obsessed vigilante" who "drives around downtown L.A anxiously looking for terrorists." (And as Moore had previously told us, there is no terrorist threat.)

Not all residents were hip on the idea of the filmmaker using their town as a staging ground for his renaissance, and voiced their concerns before the city's council . One resident, Genie Aldrich, eager to find a way to counter Moore's festival, approached friend Cheryl Rhoads out in Hollywood. Rhoads and other conservative film advocates helped her come up with the solution -- a film festival of their own, in the same city, same days.

Hence The Traverse Bay Freedom Film Fest, a grass-roots event providing films for non-Moore fans and ready to duke it out with Mr. "Fahrenheit 9/11" himself on July 29 and 30 in Traverse City, Mich. Call (231) 271-1121 for more details and stay tuned to GOP Vixen.

Moore keeps his word; Conservatives start right-wing festival
Posted Jul 8, 2005, 6:31 PM ET by Peter Sciretta

--snip--

"It's funny -- when Michael Moore announced that he was going to be holding a film Festival in his home town of Flint, MI, most people suspected that he would be playing left-wing political films. Moore assured everyone that the festival would be completely nonpartisan and was motivated only by appreciation for artistically superior film making. He even went on to say that none of his films would be shown...

...I hate to start a politically fueled comment thread, but isn't it a bit telling that the conservative side needs to show right wing documentaries at their festival while Michael Moore is fine with showing good films?"

AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH!!!!

13. Michael Moore is a G*R*E*A*T • A*M*E*R*I*C*A*N
but there's something in the air that causes mainstream media pantywaste like Tom Brokaw to just assume that he's a radical and makes lots of errors in his film. I saw Brokaw on the Tonight Show just say that F/911 was full of untruths like it was a widely known solid fact.

Stunning.

15. Anybody else notice the syntactical pitfall in tthe "haters" sentence?
The phrase "Christian haters" is intended, I think, to mean those who hate Christians. But from what I've seen lately I think maybe we should read the "Christian" as a noun, not an adjective. I can't believe the hate spewed by those who call themselves christian. That's why I attend an atheist meetup group religiously. (Sorry for the pun--couldn't resist!)
