Back in the 80s there was a satirical show called 'Spitting Image' in the UK. It used puppets and was sometimes considered quite savage.
When Tony Blair was trying to become Labour Party leader, he was represented on the show as a juvenile, squeaky-voiced, spoilt brat type of character. He had a tiny little puppet that used to bounce about the place singing "I'm going to be the leader / Leader, leader, leader.."
