Kucinich continues to amaze me
I am in awe of Dennis Kucinich. In answer to what he would do if president but that would be unpopular, the first words out of his mouth were "I would abolish the death penalty."

He certainly seems far along on the evolutionary scale...

1. yeah, I like Dennis
But I think it's probably a lot easier to tell the truth when you know you won't win anyway.

3. He DID sound really good today.
I'm so happy that he stopped the screaming. He sounds so much more reasonable when he just talks calmly. I was quite impressed.

4. I didn't like Kucinich
He was okay. He hit his notes. All the hard core lefties will continue fawning over him. But what plans did he express that would benefit everyone?

That's why he'll lose. He won't win African Americans, won't win Labor, won't win women. He'll pick up the leftie college crowd. So he was successful in that.

I would have liked to have seen him with more guts. For a leftie saying "I would abolish the death penalty" is like a christian conservative saying "I would abolish abortion." How is that brave?

Second, his plans were down right ridiculous. 15% of the military budget (or about $60 billion dollars) for early child development. What the fuck was that? I can think of one hundred other things you can do with $60 billion. No wonder he nearly bankrupted Cincinatti.

A 7.5% tax on companies to pay for Health Care. Jesus, that was WEAK.
Easy. Applause getter. Unrealistic. Dean, Gepthardt, even Clark had better health care proposals.

I realised that Kuchinich isn't in this to win. He's just there for the attention.

I was routing for the lefties, including him. I realised the only one who understands something about governing is Dean.

I loved Sharpton though. He had guts.

7. Cicinnati you mean Cleveland actually
The city gave him a commendition for doing what he did. He wont win African Americans how do you know that? John Conyers has enough respect for him to stand up for him and one of his best friends in teh house is Barbara Lee. Labor? are you nuts he makes Gephardt look moderate on labor he wants to repeal the Taft-Hartley act yeah Labor isnt gonna like that. In there just for attention huh. Yeah he was thinking about that when he stood up to the war. I think you are wrong about him.

14. Too bad the candidate you support would make what to do with $60 billion
a moot point since he has no interest in cutting the bloated defense budget.

Regarding health care, here's a link to a detailed explanation if you're really interested. Looks pretty good and wouldn't leave 10,000,000 Americans uninsured.

http://www.kucinich.us/issues/issue_universalhealth.htm

The Kucinich plan is enhanced 'Medicare for All' -- a universal, single-payer system of national health insurance, carefully phased in over 10 years. It addresses everyone's needs, including the 40 million Americans without coverage and those paying exorbitant rates for health insurance. This approach to healthcare emphasizes patient choice, and puts doctors and patients in control of the system, not insurance companies. Coverage will be more complete than private insurance plans, encourage prevention and include prescription drugs.

Health care is currently dominated by insurance firms and HMOS, institutions that are more bureaucratic and costly than Medicare. People are waiting longer for appointments. Fewer people are getting a doctor of their choice. Physicians are given monetary incentives to deny care. Pre-existing illnesses are being used to deny coverage.

Over time, the Kucinich plan will remove private insurance companies from the system -- along with their waste, paperwork, profits, excessive executive salaries, advertising, sales commissions, etc -- and redirect resources to actual treatment. Insurance companies do not heal or treat anyone, physicians and health practitioners do ...and thousands of physicians support a single-payer system because it reduces bureaucracy and shelters the doctor-patient relationship from HMO and insurance company encroachment.

Non-profit national health insurance will decrease total healthcare spending while providing more treatment and services -- through reductions in bureaucracy and cost-cutting measures such as bulk purchasing of prescriptions drugs. Funding will come primarily from existing government healthcare spending (more than $1 trillion) and a phased-in tax on employers of 7.7% (almost $1 trillion). The employers' tax is less than the 8.5% of payroll now paid on average by companies that provide private insurance. For budgetary details, click here.

Granny D endorses Dennis K, of that I'm aware. However, she will vote 'against' Shrub in the coming election, if Dennis doesn't get the nomination.

Tis not that complicated really....

WELCOME BTW!
