Operation Rescue threatens Bush "legacy" over Supreme Court pick
Contact: Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, 316-841-1700; Cheryl Sullenger, Operation Rescue spokesperson, 316-258-5490

WASHINGTON, July 9 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Operation Rescue calls on President Bush to show integrity in his two probable appointments to the Supreme Court, and nominate justices that will strictly interpret the Constitution. With the rumored retirement of Chief Justice William Rehnquist and the earlier retirement of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, President Bush will have an historic opportunity to restore America to its roots, molding a Supreme Court that will interpret laws, not make them.

"The elder Bush betrayed his promise not to raise taxes and it cost him a second term. If this President Bush betrays his promises to appoint justices that will uphold the sanctity of life, it will cost him his legacy." -Troy Newman, President, Operation Rescue

"After being elected by churchgoing Americans casting their votes on moral issues – paramount of which was the abortion issue – the President owes the good citizens of our nation two Supreme Court nominees who will uphold the Right to Life established in our nation's founding documents." --Troy Newman, President, Operation Rescue

"Mr. President, there can be no compromise when it comes to appointing justices with a solid moral compass. A compromise on the issue of life is a betrayal of those who elected you to office for just such a time as this. Even worse, it would be a betrayal of millions of children yet to be conceived, whose very survival is solely dependant upon you keeping your word." --Cheryl Sullenger, spokesperson, Operation Rescue.

1. Here we go
"Even worse, it would be a betrayal of millions of children yet to be conceived, whose very survival is solely dependant upon you keeping your word."

If these people were half as passionate about saving the lives of people already living as they are of those who are not living, let alone concieved, they would help make some positive contribution to this world.

If Operation Rescue is pleased with Bush's Supreme Court choices we are in for loads of trouble.

5. Great...This is going to be beautiful and I can't wait.
They are going to eat each other alive and all we have to do is sit and watch.

They want two whack-jobs that will overturn Roe v Wade.
That's all they want.

If they get it, we win because the country won't stand for it.

If they don't get it, we win because they will tear each other to shreds.

This is going to get interesting.

8. Why just sit and watch
All it would take to torpedo their nominees would be to leak it that
the Dems in the Senate approve of their choices.
And we could throw in a few Rep. moderates(McCain, etal.) just to "kick it up a notch."

7. I often think about Bushes legacy
I think only Satan has a worse legacy, and Bush will only add to this trend by his supreme court nominees.
