Kids say the darndest things
I drove out to a reception for my cousin's son's graduation today - about an hour and a half drive. My 14 year old nephew was the only one I could get to go with me. And, as we're cruising down the highway, he suddenly says, "I think Bush is having an affair with Condeleeza Rice?"

Not wanting to lead the child on, I asked where he heard that. He said, no where, he's just been watching them on the news and he thinks there's something going on. Then I told him he's not the first person to suggest that.

Teens are far more perceptive about politics - or at least, political relationships - than we think they are.

It reminds me of something my niece said a couple of years ago (she was 16 or 17 at the time). We were watching TV and there was a news report about Laura Bush. My niece turned to me and said, "You know, I don't like Laura Bush. She looks like the kind of woman who let's her husband make all the decisions. 'Yes, George ... whatever you say, George.' - I hate women like that!"

:D

8. Nice!
Kids are great. :) I love being around my younger cousin's. I also think there's something strange going on with Condi and George. Just look at how he is with her and compare it to Laura. Then compare it to other politicians and their wives. Even with Bill and Hillary. It's so weird. Is it true that Condi once called Bush her husband by accident?? Or was that a made up thing?

3. heeeheee! reminds me of what I taught my friend's 12 year old daughter...
she and her friends, spoiled rich brats, were going on and on about how cool Hummers were. I told them that not only were they bad for the environment, but only men with small penises drove them. They thought that was just freaking hilarious, so hopefully they'll start spreading that one around

4. If confirmation of that ever came out, the rightwing media
would tell us that it's different because Bush didn't lie about it.
