I've had it with Matt Drudge |
|
I've defended him some on this board, and I'm still amazed at his ability to break stories, but his treatment of the Dem. nominees (especially Clark and Kerry) have pushed me over the edge.
Nothing but Buzzflash for me from now on.

1. Don't be amazed by Drudge's ability to "break" stories. |

It's super-easy to "break" stories when they're directly e-mailed to you by Karl Rove and the RNC.

Hey - he's not my favorite either, but is he's got a big story than is confirmed - it's fair game!
Could John Kerry, Dean, ANYBODY else get away with praising the Bush crime family just two years ago? Absolutely not. Neither should the good general.

just look at his site right now and the way it's dominated with stuff about Clark. He would do the similar things with Kerry (remember the $200 haircut and the philly sub?)
When's the last time he covered a negative story about Bush? Just a little balance, please.

Do you expect "balance" from Truthout? BuzzFlash? Matt Drudge is a conservative Republican and claims to be an "advocational journalist." Whatever. The fact is, he posts stories that almost always fit Matt Drudge's political point-of-view. Nothing wrong with that. If I want "balance" I won't go to Drudge - or to Truthout. Balance is best left to true journalists - and not those who advocate points-of-view for a living!
