Sometimes, ya just gotta love the Brits!
They don't cry and hold Xtian vigils for five years in a row, asking what Jesus would do to brown-skinned heathen and stop everything when two objects of equal size appears and reminds them of 9-11. "Waaaaah! Waaaaah! Waaaaah! I'm a angry proud 'Murican! Waaaaah!"

4. That's the thing...
guys like this don't wait around for the government to tell them how they should "feel" about it.

New Yorkers, I've noticed, are kind of the same way. A year after 9-11, several interviews with locals were along the lines of "shut the fuck up and DO something about it!" when refering to the GOPranos daily spin about 9-11.

You can't fool these people: they know a good bullshit story when they hear it. My older sis is a lawyer in Manhattan, and confirms these facts.

2. When neighbors are there for each other ...
... they don't need some bizarre notion of a God in the sky.

On the other hand, it seems to me He answered our prayers before we even said them ... by giving us each other. Too many are just too stupid to listen to the answer.

7. I think so too

Sometimes people are looking for something with an answer of a prayer and it's always there in front of them under their noses. They think it'll be some big spectacular change or something. I remember reading earlier this weekend that some rightwingers were going nuts that the Brits were getting on with their lives. Like duh! Didn't George Bush tell us to go shopping and Disney World (not Disney Land of course) after 9/11 and not to believe consperiacy theories?

3. They have had lots of experience at it, unfortunately
From the Blitz in WWII to the various bombing by the IRA, they have learned how to deal with adversity with the 'stiff upper lip' as noted by another poster.

Being attacked is only 'new' to those of us in North America and I am including Canada in that, not just the United States. We on this side of the Atlantic have not had to accept bombings and attacks as a possibility never mind a probability until recently and, therefore, see stoicism as something above the norm while those in Europe, GB and elsewhere have become familiar with it long ago.

6. Well they dont seem to buy into the media scare tactics

And sounds like Fox News is pissed about that!

Those Brits are strong and refuse to buy into the media bullshit.

Good for them.
