Ohio -- Heard on Air America Tonight
Supposedly, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has 2 or 3 stories that they will not print for fear of their reporters going to jail for not being able to reveal their sources. Anyone have any idea what they might be?

Something about Rare-Coin-Operated Diebold E-Voting Machines perhaps?

2. That's been all over the MSM and DU.
If I remember right, they said they will not release the stories YET.

I found that little three letter word the most important one.

The story about the Ohio paper was printed in the NY Times, which leads me to believe somethings already in the rumor mill.

3. Any clues
about what they're about? I read another thread about that and a poster put their contact info so I dropped them a line and told them this quote from Gary Webb: "Authentic journalism is telling the people what the government doesn't want them to know." Our government is *supposed* to be of the people, by the people and for the people. Not one powerful group. If they have the proof and this story (or stories?) are real they should print them I think. The people deserve to know. Especially the people of Ohio.

4. I agree with you, but I also understand that it's important for them
to find another source. Apparently, the documents they got were confidential and could be traced back to the source. I can understand why that source would demand secrecy. A good reporter, if he knows what he's looking for already, should be able to source the story elsewhere.

I think we'll find out what these stories are, I just don't have any idea when.

6. The fact that the Plain Dealer won't publish the stories is proof for me
that we live under Fascism. :scared:

7. They found out the papers in the story were under seal
They have to get the seal taken off. This is responsible of them. If at some point they feel the judge is protecting a criminal, they can publish and win on appeal.

They definitley have to protect themselves in this day and age. Nobody likes a whistleblower of any kind. I remember not long ago there was someone who did some whistleblowing and they were beaten up VERY badly. I saw the photo and it was so horrible. It's like when you're in grade school and there's a tattle tell.
