Friday July 8, 2005
The Guardian

"I have rarely seen the Commons so full and so silent as when it met yesterday to hear of the London bombings. A forum that often is raucous and rowdy was solemn and grave. A chamber that normally is a bear pit of partisan emotions was united in shock and sorrow. Even Ian Paisley made a humane plea to the press not to repeat the offence that occurred in Northern Ireland when journalists demanded comment from relatives before they were informed that their loved ones were dead.

Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. Al-Qaida, literally "the database", was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians. Inexplicably, and with disastrous consequences, it never appears to have occurred to Washington that once Russia was out of the way, Bin Laden's organisation would turn its attention to the west.

In particular, it would be perverse if the focus of the G8 on making poverty history was now obscured by yesterday's bombings. The breeding grounds of terrorism are to be found in the poverty of back streets, where fundamentalism offers a false, easy sense of pride and identity to young men who feel denied of any hope or any economic opportunity for themselves. A war on world poverty may well do more for the security of the west than a war on terror.

And in the privacy of their extensive suites, yesterday's atrocities should prompt heart-searching among some of those present. President Bush is given to justifying the invasion of Iraq on the grounds that by fighting terrorism abroad, it protects the west from having to fight terrorists at home. Whatever else can be said in defence of the war in Iraq today, it cannot be claimed that it has protected us from terrorism on our soil. "

1. Boy is that a slam to the US!
I don't blame them for this accusation. They are right! The US never seems to think of future consequenses to their actions!

Let's see what Shrub's response is to this one!

2. It's all true
BinLaden is a CIA asset. Don't forget BCCI. And the Bush family. If you haven't go to http://www.informationclearinghouse.info and watch the doc "The Carlyle Group". The Bush's and BinLaden's are close and the Saudi's. It all ties together. It's all war for profit. I think that's why Blair was involved with the PNAC group. He wanted some piece of the action too but of course Bush wouldn't let it happen cause they were going to privitize the oil. If you haven't go to http://www.gregpalast.com and watch his segment on Iraq and oil. It's a real eye opener. Don't forget his film "The Bush Family Fortunes". You can see that at the info house. This is the best part: <In particular, it would be perverse if the focus of the G8 on making poverty history was now obscured by yesterday's bombings. I think that's why so many people resent Clinton on the right. He knew how to do foreign policey. He helped economic growth and we had eight years of peace in general. Of course Bush won't think of that plan. I hope in 2008 we can some way have a democratic president and they can start what this journalist suggest.

4. right-on...family bush is overly ambitious
kev Phillips lays out the framework in "American Dynasty" and asks why there has NEVER ben a serious investigation of family bush with their long history of ties to foreign money particulary Prescott and fritzie, hitlers banker ,and prescott jr and what he has been doing in china for yrs..and of course as you mention the cozy fun of

house of bush
house of saud
house of bin laden

These criminals and their cousins in britain are planning something huge to collapse the middle class..and get the wealth in complete control of a few families..and I ain't saying a terror attack..they have the USA in such a state of fear now..don't need one.....

where is that stinkpot mark rich that billy bob pardoned..he is sneaking around rome or somewhere.doing some kind of scam??

my guess is a stock market crash or swindle that really hurts the 401 s of the small investor..

I lost $50,000 in mutual funds from late 2000 to summer 2002...

real estate bubble is due to burst..

no chips like blue chips!!
