Is it normal for members of the President's Cabinet to appear on nationally broadcast religious services? Shouldn't Jim Nicholson be working on dealing with the crisis in veterans' funding and services instead of politicking for the Republican Party with churchgoers? Does Sec. Nicholson really feel that God approves of the devastation dealt to so many of our veterans by an evil, bloodthirsty Bush administration? Is there any hope that religious people will ever see that there is absolutely nothing Christian about the Bush administration beyond keeping up appearances? Did the taxpayers pay for this speaking engagement? Does the Crystal Cathedral receive money from the Federal government for "faith-based" social programs? Is that congregation as Caucasian as it looked on my television screen? Why can't ordinary Americans see that the Republican Party wants the government to provide for the welfare of the wealthy and powerful elite while it tells the rest of us to pray while they prey on us.
