"All The President's Men" on DVD: WATCH IT!! |
|
Yesterday I finally saw All The President's Men starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. The movie was made in 1976, but let me tell you, I was on the edge of my seat. It was done SO WELL it was like you were there.
As many of you probably know, All The President's Men is about how Woodward and Bernstein unraveled the Watergate conspiracy. This movie came into the news a bit recently when Deep Throat was revealed.
The fascinating thing about this movie is that this Rove thing is being unraveled in a similiar manner. However, Rovegate is FAR FAR worse.
If you haven't seen this movie, you have GOT to pick up a copy TODAY!! Hint: You can pick up a free copy of this movie at your local library.

You're so right, it's brilliant. Anything that can breathe so much life into tedious research is genius.

6. I recall being innocent to the fact that Woodward |
|
may have been working both sides.
I was innocent to the fact that Woodward could have been working for the CIA.
Looking back on it, I loved the movie because the "good guys" made our country strong again.
I wish that I could believe it in the light of today's world. I thought Woodward was a saint. Today I don't.

Did you know Rove got his start as one of Donald Segretti's "ratfuckers"? What a sick life little Rove has led.

I really enjoyed, I think it was called: "The Devils' Own," the film with Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt.

5. One of my favorites, too. |

I don't find the research tedious, though...to me, it is fascinating how they put everything together. These guys were "news men"...they reported the news, no matter what or who was involved.
I wish we had a few reporters like these guys around today.
I also read the book; anyone interested in the movie may want to check it out. It is a very good read.

7. I've watched it over 50 times. |

Still my no. #1 fav movie. The cast was superb (esp. Jason Robards as Ben Bradlee). I've even discovered flaws (like Bernstein answering a question over the phone that Woodward didnt even ask ("You fell asleep!?") Deep Throat's statement near the end that "everyone is involved" was chilling. Could that be the case in 2005?
