Yo! Fitz doesn't run his investigation based on Newsweek's reporting |
|
I just thought this needed to be said, since many people seem to be forgetting it.
What we know is only what has been leaked to Newsweek. Fitz has many more pieces of the puzzle; we should use these leaks to try to figure out what Fitz is up to by extrapolation, not as a definitive report on what he's got on Rove.

4. Great point. Fitzgerals is from one of the toughest towns anywhere-Chicago |
|
Politics there isn't a "contact sport," it's a "blood sport." The history of "good government" versus "the machine," the "mob" versus the "law," judges on the bench bold enough have rate cards, very smart people who are both tough and have forgoten more tricks tha most people ever learn...Chicago is THE BEAST. Plus the guy plays rugby.
Watch out, I think he may just have a mind of his own.
Never underestimate the ability of a truly intelligent, highly motivated, gutsy individual to change the world. Ultimately, these are people who simply do their jobs. If he does his, holy cow, we're in for a great series of events. At our best, that's what our country is about. Maybe the prosecutor is one of those people.

12. It shows an item for purchase and the price right next to it. |
|
In the case of Chicago, there was "Operation Graylord" an FBI sting of judges. Apparently, you could go to court, ask for a dismissal and get a price per the crime. Here's an article. http://www.ipsn.org/greylord.html

Though a part of me still refuses to believe that the Bushies would appoint somebody like this to investigate them.

13. Well, that's the mystery. |
|
That makes perfect sense. However, keep in mind that there are people out there in the power structure who are very smart and know * is bat fucking wacko. So this guy might just be a ringer for "the truth." The other element here is ego/patriotism. Political party registration does not bar love of country. Also, this guy defines himself through competition. If he wants to win the biggest one ever, he'll go for it, particularly if he cares about the country.
I'm engaging in more than hope but less than a heavy probability. My guess is that they're going to screw * (you know "them") but they're not going to be able to control things. I think Fitzgerald may be one of those things.

I read the piece as damage control pure and simple.

11. and I am certain that he more than email evidence |
|
from what I have heard, emails don't necessarily prove anything, since someone could feasibly use your password and log in on your computer, but they can help back up other evidence. So he must have something stronger that convinced Rove he should cooperate to an extent.
