Is Alan Colmes Posting On DU Under About 45 Differant Names?

Between The we Need To understand And love Freeper Posts and the attack on a poster for stating that in their view Reagan's death was poetic justice it makes me wonder... have we quit fighting or much like Alan Colmes are we just content in our political party's current role of getting Trent Lott's coffee?

Love and understanding are fine traits to be sure but wasting them on the wrong people will keep us and our party in the minority for a good long time. The FR is a public toliet occuppied by the lowest of life forms, people like Reagan have destroyed millions of lives and careers I have no trouble saying as much and if that is a problem... well too bad.

The only people who post on DU who are as bad as FReepers are the ones who secretly voted for G.W. Bush twice. I suspect that contains many of the 'we are just as bad as the Freepers crowd'

I'm sorry I haven't got time to play Rodney King there is just too much at stake to get along with everyone.

That being said, don't expect every alert to garner the consensus needed for action, but we will always look them over and discuss them. it also helps show patterns of behavior on folks who are perhaps here with no good intentions toward DU :nuke:

I hear ya! Some folks seem to become upset that I, and others, have no intentions of trying to get along with repubs or freepers. Perhaps that makes me mean or something, but I figure it's my soul and my ass on the line, and I'm responsible for it.

They were reveling in the suffering of others, and spewing venom (imo).

Nobody's asking that poster to have love and understanding for her enemies. Nobody's even asking her to say anything good about her enemies. They're (or at least I was) asking her to have a minimal amount of human decency while posting on DU, and respect for the survivors.

And yes, I equate it with the freepers. I am appalled that Gibson went on air and wished for a terrorist attack in Paris, just because he disagrees with their politics. Even if his perception is that the government there has in some way prevented our success in Iraq - wishing for people to suffer as a result is disgusting.

I wouldn't/couldn't willingly say ANYTHING positive about Reagan"s presidency (the subject in the post cited by the OP). Alternately I can't/won't revel in the suffering of ANYONE.

5. Venomous hatred does seem common to both extremes.

Sometimes I do think that political viewpoints can come full circle in terms of promotion of radical hatred. They just differ in the people they hate.

9. I Saw Threads On This Board After John Walton Died

That I felt were extreamly poor and I don't remember the uproar over them. I also don't advicate a war over political ideology either... for one thing I'm in Nebraska and I've learned my lesson from General Custer not to mention that I have too many friends and family who would be on the other side, but that doesn't mean I'll fight FOR them either.

What I don't understand is there seems to be a lot of people on our side of the spectrum whose only reaction to getting pissed on is to roll over and say piss on me again.
