6. interesting, your link on miller and first ammendment rights makes |
|
this even more interesting because doesn't this indicate that the so-called freedom of press in the U.S. is fiction?

7. But do you want a free press? |
|
If you do then protect journalists from the government in all cases, not just the ones that work to your advantage. The press is still there, they make money from people in the US, if they can't publish crap and still make money they will change.
To give an anology, if everyone in the US stopped buying hamburgers, McDonalds would stop selling them. If everyone in the US stopped buying things produced in sweat shops Wal-Mart would stop selling the stuff. It really is in your hands.

9. I agree, and I don't watch or buy the MSM here |
|
most news I get is from international sources, and independent shows
Actually by forcing reporters to divudge their sources eliminates whatever is left of investigative reporting, and a free press
Even though I agree with you, I guess I am not upset because those that live by the gun die by the gun. If these reporters allowed themselves to be used by the administration, and now are being burnt by that involvement, then perhaps this will be a good civics lesson to them to do their job, so things do NOT get out of control
It is the same thing with bush winning two terms. People are screaming about Roe V. Wade, Civil liberties, etc. Well, they want security over liberty, and they are getting just what they deserve
Unfortunately, all of us will suffer for that
sometimes, you learn the best lessons from mistakes, and maybe that is what will happen now. Obviously, the wounds from Viet Nam were to soon forgotten

12. Wish I could take credit |

But I wouln't have known about the other story if what I posted in Latest Breaking News hadn't been labled a dupe - I looked at the "dupe" headline and noticed that it was only half the story. Sometimes "Excellent research" is just "happy coincidence".
