Why do our candidates keep namechecking Syria as a "threat"? |
|
The first time I EVER heard about Syria being a danger to this country was from...lemme check my notes...OH! The BFEE! The same BFEE who lied their fucking asses off about the "threat" Iraq was to us! The same BFEE who IGNORED the real threat to us in the region, Saudi Arabia, because Dubya's daddy drinks mint juleps with the Saudi royals!
So, if we now know that everything we were told about Iraq was a lie, why is anyone taking them at their word about Syria, ESPECIALLY our candidates? Or for that matter, why Iran? Why not countries who are actual threats OUTSIDE of the colorful fairytales of BushCo?
I'm not saying I'm wanting us to go bomb the shit out of yet another country full of brown people, but what I do want to know is if Syria is really a threat to us?

If we don't invade, then Dimbo won't get re-elected. Isn't that a big enough threat to the BFEE?

perhaps, but not a direct threat to us.
Another possible destabilizing force in the MIddle East that could interfere with our owning the whole thing is the biggest threat they pose.
