Who is this idiot on Wash Journal?!?
Herman Belz, history professor at the U of Maryland, who says that the Republicans are the more responsible party because they are more willing to break with their own party and vote for a Democrat!! They are talking about the Supreme Court. Since he keeps referring to the Democrat Party, I think we know which side he's on.

3. Is he referring to Ginsburg Precedent?
Expect to here a lot about this - Ginsburg passed with over 90 votes including plenty of Republicans; because although her politics were liberal (former member of the ACLU) the Republicans believed she was qualified to serve despite their hatred of her politics.

What they don't tell you is that Orrin Hatch, Republican and then chairman of Judiciary, suggested Ginsburg to President Clinton. Clinton was going to nominate his secretary of labor (or something) and Hatch said that that person would never pass and recommended he look at Ginsburg (and someone else, memory serves). So it turns out that Clinton did consult with Congress to pick out the right candidate.

If President Bush does that we will still get a loser Republican - but we may avoid getting a Fascist. And he may get his nominee through congress without as much trouble.

Bryant

8. Fortunately you don't get fired from a university for saying...
something stupid. Freedom of speech and all that, which we actually believe in, as opposed to the freepers. If he teaches what he's saying in class, he's certainly doing his students a disservice. I hope they are able to read up on the material for themselves.

6. Typical AEI & Heritage Plant
Yep, when I hear "Democrat" Party, that is always a tip-off to the person's political orientation. And this goon's attempts at being "impartial" surely didn't fool any of us.

Lately WJ has been staying away from the more controversial stories...they still haven't really done a good DSM show yet, or Plame or the true story of Fitzgerald's investigation. This show continues not only to skew further and further right (just trying to keep their own bosses happy I assume) but does so with disengenuous guests who claim to be from some "independent" school or think-tank, but actually are RNC plants spewing their misinformation while the host (usually Steve or Peter) ape the party talking points as assumed fact.

7. Wash. Journal's line up is mostly repuke hacks masquerading
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 08:39 AM by LibDemAlways
as think tankers, educators, and policy makers. The c-span whores sit up there pretending to be fair and unbiased while quoting from the Moonie Times and allowing wingnut callers to go on and on spouting hatred and nonsense while the repuke toady guests smugly sit there spewing the party line. Dems who call in to challenge whatever crap the nutcases are defending are usually quickly and abruptly cut off. Meanwhile, "Our next caller (lowlife freeper pond scum) is a supporter of President Bush..."

It's all bullshit.
