Leonard has been arrested and his blog has been shut down for calling for the impeachment of George Bush.He is a natioal guard soldier who is more than willing to go out on patrol.

Please read jimstaro's diary and recommend it so the Kos machine can move into action behind Leonard Clark.

5. and the cries to have Clinton impeached were???? encouraged!
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 11:44 AM by Solly Mack
Soldiers bad-mouthed Clinton constantly...and never got into trouble for it.

While it's true that it is unlawful to tell the CinC to go fuck themselves(btw, Go fuck yourself, Bush!)....don't be a hypocrite about it. It shows the "rule" is nothing but political horseshit..and nothing to do with "honor"

This pisses me off.

edit: because I did hear of an officer or two that "retired" because they said bad things about Clinton...but I've never found a hard copy on it. So if anyone has it, please share.

He's clearly not a deserter or guilty of dereliction of duty but they may have him on insubordination. That's just a guess.

This misadministratinon is so intolerant of dissent that I don't feel good about this situation at all.

Thankfully am not at all familiar with military law.

10. I read on DailyKos
that in fact he was being closed down and arrested because he was running for elected office in the US, in violation of some rule to the contrary, and had been told that he had to cease such activity. Doesn't make it any better, but at least appears that he had been warned.

22. But Clark is not a commissioned officer...
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they can pin some crime on him just for speaking out (this is the military, after all, where independent thought is frowned upon), but this law won't fly in this case.

IF you need any more proof that the Nazi ideology is alive & thriving in the U.S., just look at the way politics plays out in the courts.

42. Is calling for impeachment 'contemptuous'?
That seems like a stretch.

When I think of contemptuous, I think of something like, 'Hey, President Bush. You are a fuckwad who has no brains and no business being the leader of the free world. You're probably beating off in the oval office while Rove, Rumsfeld and the other neocon nazis pull your puppet strings.'

Now THAT would be contemptuous.

I listened to his voice mails from Iraq and he was afraid this would happen or he would be killed. I'm going to tell Durbin and Obama about this. I sent them Leonard's voice mails and told them to REMEMBER Leonard's name for the future because he feared this.

Did he break the law? Is it illegal for a soldier to call for impeachment of the worse president of our lives? :grr:

44. if it is, he is not a citizen soldier
now is he. of all the things that i say that make people think i am nuts, insisting that the point of having citizen soldiers is the same as the point of having citizen jurors is number 1. the last check in the checks and balances is having ordinary citizens "where the rubber meets the road". when i say that above all i am hoping that the citizen soldiers will say 'hell no' in numbers big enough to throw sand in the gears of the military industrial complex, i have to start listening for sirens in the distance.

FTbushcons. I once wore a pickle suit, I once said FTA, (OK a LOT more than once), now I look back on that time of my life soooo long ago. I know I am the better for it. I can no longer recommend military service, bushco is screwing our soldiers for reasons not clear, greed comes to mind though. Our military has been hijacked by those whose needs are not in line with the greater needs of the citizens of this country. (OR the citizens of this planet for that matter). FTA???? No Friend, it has been "F"ed WAY too much already.

46. I realize the reasoning for this
Soldiers should not get involved in politics especially if they are of high rank. A quick look at history shows that when they do a military coup usually occurs.

That said I certainly hope that this soldier is slapped on the wrist and discharged.
