Please don't ever let Jack Valenti go on partisan shows as the Dem rep.
He is on Inside Politics' "Strategy Session". It is not good.

He dismissed the entire Rove/Plame/CIA Leaks case. He said he doesn't see what the big deal is and now he is criticizing Hillary for her Alfred E Newman comment re Bush. He said he doesn't ever like to criticize Presidents since he worked for one.

Please, I usually like the guy but he is so not helping out the Democratic position right now.

1. He's an idiot
He obviously knows nothing about the implications of the Plame outing and the investigation itself, and he must've forgotten one of the roles of the opposition party IS TO CRITICIZE THE RULING PARTY AND THE PRESIDENT.

2. I was thinking the same damned thing!
Too nice.

Bay At The Moon Buchanan was laughing.

I want someone, anyone, just once, to turn and ask, "What's so damned funny?"

Republicans 'Mad' about Sen. Clinton's comments

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Republicans took aim at Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday for comparing President Bush to Mad magazine's freckle-faced, "What, me worry?" kid, Alfred E. Neuman.

Neuman has been Mad's mascot since at least 1956 and the magazine has repeatedly portrayed him as a presidential candidate.

-snip-
"I sometimes feel that Alfred E. Neuman is in charge in Washington," Clinton said during the inaugural Aspen Ideas Festival, organized by the Aspen Institute, a non-partisan think tank.

The former first lady drew a laugh from the crowd when she described Bush's attitude toward tough issues with Neuman's catch phrase: "What, me worry?"

5. That's precisely why he's there.
In "The Republican Noise Machine," Brock points out that the Heritage Foundation actually has a booking agency.

Of course the lazy MSM makes use of it. Then the Dems offer whoever is available in response.

Until we grasp how deep seated their media manipulation is, we're doomed to fail.

7. I think we should all contact the DNC and beg them to get on this
right away or would the American Progress people be better - more of a counterpart to the Heritage Foundation.

8. As I listened to Valenti,
I couldn't help thinking that it's because of people like him that democrats continue to lose. I was so disappointed in him.
