1. how about all of that "aid" money |
|
going back to stop the US deficit or how about the American people for universal health care?
That's what pisses me off, Americans average are in major trouble and there seemingly is no money to fix social security or save Medicare and on and on, but sure is plenty for "aid" to other nations and Halliburton.

that fixing schools and establishing universal health care are priorities.
Social security however isn't broken though. That's the line the pukes are trying to feed.
Also, when it comes to foreign aid, the US is probably one of the cheapest around. When it comes to aid, the US gives probably the smallest proportion of its GDP, compared to other industrialized nations.
That said, the aid the government gives is often military "aid", so the average person likely would never see it.

Us?
What the fuck?
Just for recognizing them as a nation in 1947, we owe them something? Just for keeping them armed and able to defend themselves, we owe them something?
I agree, fuck that shit.

That's my suggestion.
But you know we are going to end up giving Israel the money one way or another. Might be behing closed doors, but when Israel comes 'a knockin' Bush is more than happy to answer the door.
We need to end any support to Israel immediately. But then again, one protofascist country will always help another protofascist country.

8. I agree that this is bullshit |
|
however Israel isn't the only beneficiary of US military aid. Frankly I'm sick of giving many nations military aid, among them including Egypt, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.

10. You know, if we got some guarantees |
|
$2.2 billion might be the bargain of the century. IF the Israeli government guaranteed that the settlements in Gaza and the West Bank would be dismantled, and began a cooperative program with the Palestinians in those two areas to update and modernize their infrastructure, and with UN assistance began working toward a cooperative rather than an oppositional framework for living next to each other (a proposition that I believe has a great deal of support among the Israeli and Palestinian hoi polloi), and created a timetable with benchmarks, and a commitment from other nations in the area not to interfere with the framework or the timetable . . .
THEN there might be the beginnings of real peace coming to the area.
And at $2.2 billion, it would be one helluva deal. But there are a LOT of "ifs" and a lot of vested interests in the region that depend on continued conflict.
