I'm afraid to believe that this KKKarl thing is true? If I let my heart
believe it and then something happens to fuck it up I'll be so hurt.
HURT more than 11/02/04. I don't know if I can recover if I fall in and believe this and KKKarl slithers away.

I wanna join I just can't believe that it was that easy. I can't believe something they've been doing daily is what brings KKKarl down.

I just can't believe it. Something is wrong. Something isn't right about this.

What is it?

I DIDN'T SAY "KARL!" I DIDN'T SAY "KARL!"

2. What thing, exactly?
If you're talking about him being arrested for outing that CIA agent, don't get your hopes up, it won't happen. I can tell you right now, there's some loophole he's just slimy enough to squeeze through. Bet on it.

I wanna celebrate but deep down I know nothing is going to happen.

3. I don't believe that anything will come of it.
There will be no indictment, no resignation, no firing. I mean we had 911, the worst attack by foreign forces in history, the lies that lead up to the Iraq war. No 0one was fired for either. No one paid a price for either.

Karl is a bush loyalist. The justice department is under Bushes control. Rove has nothing to worry about.

7. You know what else gets me?
It's the way that, no matter what happens, they just ignore it. Refuse to answer questions. If they stonewall enough, then the media just go away, and as we know all too well, if it ain't covered by the media, then it just plain didn't happen, end of story. I've never seen anything like it in my entire life.

set up for a let down.

It's been out there two years!

Personally, I can't believe their karma hasn't caught up with them yet. I do understand what you are saying. We've been through so much disappointment it's hard to allow ourselves to hope again.

6. Let's not do the dance of joy yet
As was posted in several threads this weekend, this seems to neat and tidy. Are we cynical? Shouldn't we be? Yes, karma will get them in the appropriate time, place, and level. Is this it? I hope so. Didn't it take a couple of years before Watergate was finally "flushed". Patience, grasshopper. . .

On a semi-related note: Anyone notice how much Rove looks like Ken Starr?

10. No offense, but at this point in time, I'm not a huge believer in karma
or poetic justice or whatever you want to call it. After all, Oliver North was CONVICTED in the Iran-Contra scandal and now has a TV show on Faux News - where's the poetic justice in that? :(

Rove didn't have his dick sucked by an intern - he'll walk.

5. I have been hesitant to get too invested in this, either.
And for the same reason. I don't want to be disappointed. Again.

But the white house corp acted like real journalist today, so maybe something is really up. And we always knew that the Plame outing was an important story. And now it looks like there was a cover up.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, that's my motto.

And if it bursts, DU will be here to help you pick up the pieces :)

This place is the ONLY thing that kept me sane after Nov 2.

21. Well I am happy to celebrate the journalists growing balls.
But that is it. There is no way that KKKarl is going to jail. There will be no perp walk.
No urine stained pants.

9. There will always be another Rove, another Atwater
The playbook is written. The rightwing strategists simply follow it to a tee.

In other news, I was shocked today with the accuracy of this Wikipedia account of Lee Atwater. I'm so used to the facts being clouded in rightwing distractions, it's a pleasure when criminals and bastards like Atwater and Rove are exposed.

But it's a pleasure with no future ramifications. Too many rats on the boat. We can't get rid of them.

12. But it is now OKAY to believe it's true, as Stuart Smalley might say
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 06:25 PM by rocknation
and that takes away a significant piece of Karl's leverage.

This confirms all the negatives we've believed about Karl, just as the Downing Street minutes give us a tangible reason to believe that Bush knew there were no WMDs. Our beliefs are now butressed by evidence--we can no longer be accused of acting on knee-jerk anti-conservative resentment. It's not much, certianly not in comparison seeing the entire Bush empire perp-walked. But at the same time, we have made more headway than I would have dared to dream was possible.

23. But it certainly hasn't stopped fellow DU'rs from accusing us of being
tinfoil hat wearers, and heaping scorn on us, not to mention starting posts this week to do just that.

I say fuck 'em.

The tinfoilers have been proven right more than not.

But these DU'rs say we should sit down and shut up because we make some imaginary DU'rs look bad or some such crap.

source. Now that their asses are on the line they will quit swallowing the bullshit the WH and it's cronies are spewwing. Look for some hard hitting coverage on the Plame issue now.

16. I don't know what will happen to Karl in the end
I know it won't be nearly enough to equal justice. The fact that this is even going as far as it has is a surprise to me. I guess we're due to get one if for no other reason, simply because we can't get screwed EVERY single time?

Join the activist corps at DU or find some other way to push things along and then just enjoy whatever happens.

As for myself, I'm just loving watching them squirm so hard.

25. This has been on my mind for a few weeks
but maybe now I can share my feelings here.
This seems to be coming to a resolution now, and I'm glad. We all want the result to be guilt of some kind for Rove. Every time I see that pic of him thumbing his nose, I just want to scream! I want it to be OUR turn to finally be able to give it right back to him.

Having said that, I'm torn. I think of Dan Rather's fate for taking the bait last year. Then I think, why would the prosecutor keep calling Rove back for more questions? Obviously, others are contradicting testimony he has given. IMO, that seems the strongest evidence he may be in trouble...finally.
And let's not forget the other important issues, either. We've stopped talking about the DSM, but we shouldn't.

24. Then watch closely

And learn how they do the trick.

Every time they do it it gets a little bit more difficult, more people can see through it every time. They only have a certain number of tricks to pull out of their sleeves.

Their demise is inevtitable. Even if this one fails, they're just too precarious now, they've pissed off too many people.

It's only a matter of time. If not this time, then the next, if not that one, well the one after that, if not that, well the one after that... and so on.

All we have to do is keep going. That's all we have to do. Keep pushing, knowing that we're doing the right thing.

:-)
