1. Can we not multi-task? |
|
When you have several "scandals" at one time this skill could come in handy, don't you think?

2. Yeah, what happened there? |
|
After Conyers (for Pres!) went to the White House with the DSM, I never heard another thing about it, except how it has fallen out of the news....

It's still a lovely thing to pull out when talking to people who are still woefully uninformed enough and/or evil enough to still be supporting bush!
And don't worry. You'll see it again, of that I am sure. For now, though, the media is all over the Plame thing.

5. They're essentially the same scandal |
|
Both are evidence that the administration fixed the facts (lied) to support their agenda of invading Iraq.
The scandal is that Bush is a war criminal. The rest is evidence.

6. Right, thanks for mentioning that. |
|
They are very much connected, anyway. Further digging into the Plame stuff will just lead right back to the DSMs.

7. if you think about it, it'd be a smart move for them. |

DSM is much more damaging on a greater scale. This Rove thing is the kind of scandal they can, if they have to, simply throw someone to the wolves on. As much as I'd like to see Rove go, I don't want to see them let him take the fall for this, and then claim a moral high ground. As smart as they are, they know exactly what they're doing by letting the Rove thing blow up a little. It's up to US to make sure we multi-task. There are too many other things. Rove is just an example of what's wrong with this administration, not the end of it.

12. Oh no it isn't. Rove's treason ties into it. |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 07:09 PM by Stirk
The Bush Administration was determined to invade Iraq, as outlined in the DSM. They were "fixing the intelligence" around that goal, and their Nigerian yellowcake scare is an example of that.
Wilson questioned the fixed intelligence, and Rove outed his wife in retaliation. "Fixing" the whistleblowers, so to speak.
I'm fine with a focus on Karl Rove. His actions exist within the context of the DSM. To report Rove's outing of a CIA operative in retaliatiation against a whistleblower is to accept the premise of the DSM.

Congress has been on recess for a week or so, but should be back in session this week. Conyers hasn't forgotten.
