Was anyone listening to Michael Savage's nuclear meltdown....

....on his radio show during the last half hour. He has gone totally postal with his callers, accusing everyone of being part of the Liberalism mental illness pandemic. He won't let anyone finish what they are saying. He cuts them off, changes the dialog, is putting words in their mouths and was even accusing one caller of being a secret liberal trying to sabotage his show. It's like the guy is having paranoid delusions.

...in the car from 7:40pm to 8:00pm. Here in Orlando there are no alternatives to conservative talk radio, in other words it's all CTR to the extreme. So when I do listen to Michael Savage, it is a form of comedy. But tonight he was totally geek-ed out. As I pulled into my driveway he was ranting and screaming incoherently about having no power to do anything about the liberal mentality in the nation and the world, the only power he has is the power of the question, so he'll ask the questions.....and on and on and on. It sounded like he is drunk!

7. The first time I heard this "man" on the radio...

I was driving towards San Francisco to see my parents. I had never heard of him and wasn't a big radio fan. I was flipping stations and (surprise) in a remote area on the 5, he was the only thing on.

At this time, the news was covering the story of some conjoined twins from South America who were brought to the US for life-saving seperation surgery that was unavailable in their home country. The doctors at UCLA were donating their time and doing this for free since the family also suffered from extreme poverty.

He said, and I'm paraphrasing, that we should just let these children die. If you don't have the money, why shoud you get anything for free. Instead of operating on these little moochers, someone who could afford these doctor's time and who would be a value and asset to America could be on that table instead. It's genocide against the wealthy.

I'll never forget hearing "genocide against the wealthy."

This man is not only unbalanced, he is truly one of the cruelest creatures to ever breathe air. He is not even human in my eytes. He is less than the dirt beneath my feet.

appeals to the basest of prejudice and hate. The funny thing is, I think that he knows he's just an entertainer, who is no better than an snake oil salesman, stirring up the rubes to make his fortune.

The more outrageous things he says, the better the freepers and their ilk love him. Like Joe Pyne a few decades ago, he'll either self-destruct or end as a bitter old fart on some late night talk show confessing that he never really believed half of what he was spewing on the radio.

It's 21st Century hucksterism borne on the coattails of Limburger and FOX.

However, he is also dangerous. He appeals to that low mentality uninformed population base that has been fooled before. Fooled to think that Iraq attacked the US on 9/11 and was harboring weapons of mass destruction. Fooled that the B* tax cuts benefit them. Fooled that if we just would have given that Shivo woman some food and water, she'd be hopping around at the front of the next clinic protest. Fooled that John Kerry wasn't really a war hero. Fooled that the mass media has a liberal agenda. Fooled that global warming and pollution are no problem. Fooled that trail lawyers are the cause of high insurance rates. (There are so many more.) Fooled fooled fooled.
