TONIGHT: Jonah Goldberg! Plus "We Love Showbiz!" with Rob Corddry and Samantha Bee.

Isn't Jonah Goldberg the son of that whore, Lucianne?

3. If Jon Stewart keeps up this whorish behavior
I'm going to have to look for greener pastures for my late nite basic cable entertainment.

5. So if he rails on Bush for 15 minutes and has on a conservative, that's it

??

Geez, give the guy a break. He doesn't have a political show. He's had on Al Gore, John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich, Jim Hightower, Al Franken, Al Sharpton, and would have had Hillary Clinton.

But god forbid! He has on Jonah Goldberg! You might stop watching!!

Huh? What whorish behavior are you talking about?

11. How can you say Stewart isn't "a political show"?
Most of his material comes from that. I dont go to The Daily Show for "fair and balanced" coverage from Rethuglicans, I go there for THE TRUTH!

6. wait and see
Jon does try to be "fair and balanced" and he's never mean. But he does get in his subtle digs when he has a conservative guest. He's always respectful, though. I just don't like to have the Goldberg and Coulter types in my life. I'll switch to something else when he comes on. Let me know how it goes. I don't have the fortitude to watch.

for example, I thought he made Newt Gingrich look very foolish.

4. Thanks for the warning
I'll skip the "guest" portion. He's another son we would never have heard of if a parent hadn't made a bundle from rightwing prostitution.

8. Jon was definitely laughing AT Goldberg.
He even called him Goldman!

Hilarity!

That guy was really out of control.

9. We've had this conversation about "bitch"
Question: How do people feel about using the word "whore" as a perjorative term against individuals that they don't like?

I'm not stating a position on this (yet ... I have to run out for a bit) beyond stating, as I have before, that context defines words and they are more or less meaningless without considering context.

Anyway, I'm not trying to start another war here at DU. Just want people's thoughts on this.

13. My main concern about people using "whore"...
...is that its impact gets diluted by overuse, just as the formerly great word "awesome" became a synonym for "really good."

When everyone one doesn't like gets labeled a whore, it no longer means anything to use it to describe a person who's completely sold out what he/she believes in to turn a quick buck.

And yes, like "bitch", it's a shocking word, so I think it should be used with caution, but sometimes the situation requires you to use a pungent word.
