What Is Going On With The Downing Street Memos?
What is the latest?

I heard that Kerry had produced a letter akin to that from Conyers. It was not well supported. That is pretty mush the last I have heard about it.

Is anything going on with this or has it died?

4. Surely you jest for my perception is anything this administration does is
a.o.k. with my senators who vote in lockstep for absolutely everything the administrations wants.

7. What, are you afraid you're going to hurt their feelings??
They more than ANYONE should hear this from their voting constituents! Let's not so quickly forget Rep. Walter Jones (R/Freedom Fries), who now has been seen wearing a peace sign.

10. I'm afraid it wouldn't hurt their feelings and I know they don't give a
hoot for there are enough rednecks, religious zealots, and other ideologues to assure their re-election, no matter what Repugs do or don't do.

16. It's never futile to fight back - if only for the symbolism.
Just do it.

And...

Never Give Up.

2. From Conyers Blog:
"As we prepare to take the next steps, I would like your assistance in helping me prepare a comprehensive chronology--a time line of everything we know about the fixation with war in Iraq, the manipulation of intelligence, and the deliberate misrepresentations made both to the Congress and to the public."

3. Conyers is holding a town hall here in Detroit on July 23
Events to coincide with it are being organized all around the country. Got to afterdowningstreet.org to find an event near you.

This is not dead!

5. I heard Conyers was going to London for more info on the DSM
And Conyers has said that this is only beginning. They are investigating all the information they received at the Basement Hearing.

On a related note, I noticed today that the Washington Post gave front page coverage to the newest leaked memo from the UK regarding the withdrawal of troops from Iraq in January 2006. Apparently, they learned their lesson and are now paying attention to the news out of the UK.

9. What has Dean, Kerry, Hillary, Reid etc said about it TODAY?
Oh that's right- we are still waiting for Republican owned corporations to talk about it FOR US- my bad!

8. "Star" Democrats with media access barely ever mention it , if at all.
Dean mentioned it once, mabey twice out of 7 or so TV appearances, Kerry to my knowledge has never mentioned it on TV. Hillary wont talk about it either- and her husband said he has not read it when he was given a golden opportunity to talk about it.

But it feels better to blame the media for what they wont say. Let's blame the media for not talking about what top DEMs wont talk about either.

13. If they could make something out of it...
...then it's all they'd be talking about in front of the cameras. They must have looked hard at it and then decided it's a dead end.

I can't see a different explanation, really.

17. Yeah- a dead end. No one would ever believe there are no WMDs.
Good excuse- it's a "dead end" to confront Bush on lying about WMDs, so best to just give him another free pass.

We should continue to blame the media for not talking about the DSM, but make excuses for DEMs who also ignore it.

He & his wife think that ignoring this will impress swing voters. I disagree.

14. I'm going to make them pay attention to it
I'm working on a House Party DVD for the DSM events, and I'm going to incorporate a LOT of stuff about Bush lying re ROVE, McClellen getting his ears pulled off today, WHIG folks, Ambassador Wilson, and how the DSM and ROve scenarios are so intertwined that ROVE's indiscretion is PROOF that the DSM are SOLID.

Or as Ricky Ricardo would put it, "Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do.."

I'm going to do my best Michael Moore impersonation possible and pull out all the stops with this DVD..

I want to piss them off ROYALLY and dispell the LIES, especially the latest BASHING Of Wilson, the character assassination they are rolling out, etc..

I'm on it man, and I'm going to give them hell, more like Truman said, "Tell them the Truth so they think they are in HELL.."

Anything you want to lay on me here to add to the DVD is appreciated..
