Lionel: "You've been screwed and you don't care"
Yelling at his listeners that they don't give a damn about the war and the people dying. People care more abut the Mets. They care more about being a Republican. The rest don't see that it's getting worse.

He finally saw the move "Uncovered" and it evidently freaked him out and catapulted him off the fence of being a self styled moderate. He used to say he liked W but tonight he's finally had it. It's about time.

Well, at least his radio show is live tonight. http://www.thezone1300.com/lionel.html

3. Yes, that station has his first hour
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 09:22 PM by eleny
DU has a link on the Latest page at the top of the next hour to the NY station that just has the last two hours. But New Haven carries the whole show.

Did you hear him yell at his first caller? I've never heard him like this. I think he's trying to drag the freeps out of the woodwork. Loks like he got one with the second call.

2. Telling his audience to turn off their radios
Because talk radio is a joke. That's because people only listen and don't respond.

Just give "them" the flag and let them do what they want because you don't care.

He's so pissed at his audience. His first caller doesn't even know how to talk to him.

4. I adore Lionel. It sounded like his head exploded. Where can you
listen to him live? I went to WOR but I'm having a problem. I heard him fall apart on my way home in the car.

5. He had a Howard Beale moment, eh?
We need more of them!

I've been waiting for one of the network TV anchors to do it. Thought maybe it would be Rather before he retired.

Beale: I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth; banks are going bust; shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter; punks are running wild in the streets, and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it.

We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be!

We all know things are bad -- worse than bad -- they're crazy.

It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out any more. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we're living is getting smaller, and all we say is, "Please, at least leave us alone in our own living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my my steel-belted radials, and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone."

Well I'm not going to leave you alone.

I want you to get mad!

I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot. I don't want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street.

All I know is that first, you've got to get mad.

You've gotta say, "I'm a human being! My life has value!"

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell,

"I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"

12. I've heard him say this before...
The context is the evidence. Since the evidence is not all known to the public, I think he's leaping to a conclusion too fast. He's an attorney but I think he's being too cautious.

15. Fact in evidence.
Admitted by Rove, via his attorney.

He talked about Plame w/ Cooper.

There is zero reason for this outside political retribution.

16. That's the perjury - Lionel is addressing the treason evidence
I agree with you. Why talk about Plame if it didn't do damage. But Lionel is saying, as he has for many nights, that the evidence is not there to prove Rove knew she was a noc. I won't be happy if Lionel is correct. But nothing has been made public about how Rove knew she was a knock. At this point, we can only hope that Fitzgerald can knit everything together to charge Rove for treason.

17. Of course he knew.
What else would be the purpose?

He's wrong. But I often am as well.

Peace.

18. He's not saying Rove didn't know
He's saying the evidence isn't there. They have to prove it in court for things to go the way we hope. I think Lionel should shut his trap about this right now. He isn't privvy to what Fitgerald knows.

Peace back atcha!
