Kuwait was illegal. There was a dispute between the two nations regarding borders and slant oil drilling. It could have probably been resolved without war in the international courts or UN, but I don't see it as 'illegal'. Shoot, there was even a war between a couple of our states (Ohio and Michigan?) over border disputes.

I think you are right, and the "first" (both are part of the same package) Gulf War was just as bogus and unecessary as the "second".

none. War is usually idiotic from the get-go, of course, and if there weren't money to be made by having wars, these disputes could mostly be settled at a bargaining table.
