Milbank: "This is Rove's town...."
A direct quote from Dana Milbank in an online chat from the Washington Post:

Washington, D.C.: What odds would you give at this point that this will lead to Rove's firing?

Dana Milbank: My predictions are often comically off, but here goes: This is Karl Rove's town, and the rest of us -- President Bush included -- are just living in it.

nice going, Scoop.

Since when does DC have to do the bidding of an unelected bottomfeeder? I doubt it lived in fear of Clinton's deputy chief of staff.

6. Rome was once Nero's town as well................
and we're all aware of that outcome. Rove is not invincible. Especially since he's hiding behind Judy Miller in prison. The MSM doesn't take kindly to government officials setting them up like this. Maybe, just maybe, they'll start doing their jobs now and force Rove to extinguish the fires he's started by resigning and serving jail time.

7. Ha. That's why he's going down.
Sure, it's "Rove's town" when he's on the offensive, but now *he* is the story. It's now Karl's *own* blood that's in the water, and he's pissed off alot of the sharks.

His influence is going to work against him alot more than it works for him now. Alot of people would like to see him removed, and even his allies will abandon him as his stink gets worse.

8. Well Milbank is dead wrong because Washington, DC is...
the American people's town and rove is there temporarily. The American people will be rid of rove soon enough.

10. You know maybe if the press stopped glorifying him this bullshit would
stop. Who the fuck is Karl Rove to earn all of this respect? And thats exactly what it is, he's been elevated to an almost cult hero by the media and it's fucking ridiculous, he's a 2 bit huckster thats played a lot of dirty tricks and i'm guessing some of his better ideas like direct mail were cribbed from someone else.

Call him what he is, a low rent bullshit peddler.

16. Got him by the tale.......Not the head!
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 02:48 PM by JLW
I just don't think (based solely on what we know from Cooper’s release) that there is enough information to declare a victory. I think Karl is going to walk away from this smelling like a rose while democrats are in the spot light calling for his head.

There are strategic ways to keep this issue in the forefront without jeopardizing the character of our party. We should push the investigation and media coverage and hold the premature jubilation for at the very least an indictment. There are accusations already floating around that democrats are running a smear campaign. If this backfires or there is not enough power behind the charges, then this is going to blow up in our faces.

Just my take....I've been wrong before...LOL

Since when does a person in Rove's position "leak" information directly? Does know one find this just a little suspicious that Rove is conveniently the first link in the chain? A scandal with no "fall guy"? Is there the slightest possibility that we are being baited?

Maybe I'm too suspicious...

22. Rove is human
last I heard, I think he is human and humans make mistakes, even Rove. It's been a long time coming if you think about all that Rove has already gotten away with. Even Rove had to slip up at some point and time.. It happens to the best of them.....
