I'd love for our leaders to beat them like a drum over this. The GOP hasn't had a new idea in all its life. That's what they stand for, standing still or going back.

How did we, the progessives, get stuck with the "party of no new ideas?" All the GOP can do is start wars, cut taxes, run deficits and try that stupid trickle down crap again. It didn't work last time, it won't work this time.

I also think it is hurting our moral to let them label us this way.

We're the party of new ideas and moving forward. They are just rename something that failed before and call it new.

Snap out of it.

2. It's true that many of our democratic ideas are old, some several thousand
years but it takes time to implement them and even then it's a constant battle to keep them as policies and procedures.

Simple things like the equality of all humans, love thy neighbor, share nature's bounty with all. Science has certainly changed the processes available for implementing old ideas but the battle continues between good and bad.

It's ironic that the political left is right and the political right is wrong on so many social issues .

3. The Dems haven't been very progressive recently though
Clinton did some good things, and some bad things, but I wouldn't call him progressive - nor Gore, nor Kerry, there are progressives in the Democratic Party but they tend not to be it's leaders.

5. "Old ideas." What crap.
The wheel is an old idea.
Fire? Old idea. So's having 26 letters in our alphabet.

The republicans think the wheel would be so much cooler shaped like a square, fire would last longer if we could freeze it, and since the letters X and Q aren't used in that many words, they should be banned from the English language.

Then they thump their chests and brag about their "new ideas."

Idiots.

7. Our own leaders say we have no new ideas...
Even some of the Democratic Party faithful say we need to renew our image with "new ideas".
