Anyone hear Diane Rehm and Bob Woodward play dumb this morning?Disgusting.

Bob "Let me milk my one accomplishment for all it's worth, forever" Woodward was on Diane's show, and Diane asked him about this Rove thing. She just "can't understand" what the deal is about this, she just doesn't get it, can Mr. Woodward explain it?

And Bob, of course, doesn't understand it either--and he knows the WaPo would *never* turn over notes, can you imagine some federal prosecutor coming in and demanding to know who Deep Throat was? He just doesn't see where there's a crime committed, Watergate was resolved in a year and this thing has been going on forever!

Let me explain it REALLY SLOW: Karl Rove, and possibly others, were COMMITTING A FUCKING CRIME by outing a CIA AGENT. Because they *used* the press to commit this crime, the reporters are under pressure to divulge their identities. In fact, there are at least two federal laws that may have been broken in addition to any obstruction charges.

I cannot believe the deliberate obtuse mindset by so many people on this topic. I'm particularly disgusted with Diane, she seems to be a person of some intelligence.

He's asked in the 26 minute whether he'd have gone to jail to protect Deep Throat. Around 29:30 she goes "I don't understand what law has been broken"...and he goes me neither!

6. Woodward has no perspective, so I'll give him some.

Imagine that during Watergate, you were being fed bad info intended to smear Nixon's opponents. Now, suppose Ben Bradley and the Post were accomplices in enabling the passing of that info, and that your buddy Carl Bernstein was writing columns naming covert agents that had nothing to do with the crimes committed in Watergate but whose spouses were part of the anti-Nixon crowd.

What would you do, Bob, when a special prosecutor starting asking for records that showed that all of your research on Watergate had been tainted or was false? Would you ask the Post to not reveal such info? Would you go to jail to defend the lies that the Post fed you, lies that were read and believed by the American people? Lies that were written under your byline?

Just wondering.

should stay out of this entirely for the sake of his own career. He has continually acted "stupid" regarding this whole thing so his credibility as an investigative journalist is slowing going down the drain. If he doesn't get this then I wonder just how many times Deep Throat had to repeat himself before Bob finally underestood what the Hell he was talking about. Matter of fact, I bet Carl is the one who explained it to him; Carl seems to get it, from what I've seen.

He mentioned on Larry King that he's writing a book on *'s second term. I'm sure it's as dream-filled as * At War. Heaven forfend reality rear its ugly head.

BTW - isn't it pretty well established that Woodward is a gov agent?
