GOP: "We Support Plame's Outing"
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 03:51 PM by StefanX
Republican Leaders: We Support Plame's Outing

RNC Chair Ken Mehlman: "It's disappointing that once again, so many Democrat leaders are taking their political cues from the far-left, Moveon wing of the party. The bottom line is Karl Rove was discouraging a reporter from writing a false story based on a false premise and the Democrats are engaging in blatant partisan political attacks."

Sounds like he supports Karl Rove's actions to me.

-- Armando at DailyKos, Tue Jul 12th, 2005 at 12:09:55 PDT

I have 3 things to say to Ken Mehlman:

(1) Republicans admitted that Wilson's story was TRUE - that's why Tenet fell on his sword and resigned over the "16 words". Now they're saying Wilson's story was FALSE. They can't have it both ways.

(2) Republicans are saying it's ok to out a covert WMD analyst.

(3) Republicans are soft on treason.

Republicans need to find a new set of talking points. This isn't going to help them at all.

The average American now sees that the Bush and Cheney will hurt national security if they think it might help them politically.

"My Name Is George Bush and I Approve Outing CIA Agents."

1. Then why does Bob Woodward dump on Philip Agee on Hardball
and the other news shows ? And why is Agee still out and about if he did anything wrong in the first place ? From what I've heard, Welch in Greece was already id'ed by East German and other intelligence agencies but 'the company' wanted to blast Agee for their own sloppiness.

2. Funny, I don't remember them saying that when the Plame story broke
Then, it was a "ridiculous suggestion" to suggest Rove's involvement.

They're fucked.

16. CIA changes?
Many good folks have left in disgust and/or perhaps been fired from the CIA. Those that would dissent with the BU**SH**Inc. and then there is also a strong pro-BushInc. elelment/tradition / neocon?/ links there too I think - dating back from Iran Contra days.

8. But to make it worse - Wilson's story was TRUE
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 04:06 PM by StefanX
Wilson's story was SO true that CIA director Tenet resigned over it.

Now, Republicans say Wilson's story was so false, they had to out his CIA wife to discredit him.

Which one is it?

12. Correct! He did the exact same thing when asked about the 'largely
discredited' DSM as he lied to Tim Russert. He further went on to say the 9-11 comission investigated this (a true WTF moment).

Maybe he will next claim that the 9-11 comission has looked into this as well.

15. "Wilson BAD. We GOOD." Therefore everything's justified.
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 04:32 PM by Inland
Like Rove said, Wilson's wife is fair game, because if you cross this White House, you are ruined, your spouse is ruined, and if breaking the law and uncovering an operative is part of that, well, that's fair game.

to this adminstration, the real enemy isn't alqaeda. It's domestic political opposition. The idea that one can hurt national security by ratfucking those who dare cross Bush doesn't occur to them, since those who cross Bush are the real enemy.

18. Right.
National security is synonymous with the Bush agenda. Therefore it's impossible for anyone who's trying to further the Bush agenda to damage national security in the process. It's so solipsistic it makes my head hurt.

26. Hmm not a bad idea. It would be more accurate then the way they've gone...
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 07:42 PM by WePurrsevere
the reporters could then be accurate when they say that the GOTs are giving tax breaks to the rich and corporations, the GOTs want to cut social services for the poor, social security for the disabled and elderly, etc... American will have the GOTs and not GOTS. ;) Wow.. truth in advertising finally. :D

24. I also don't get why they are bothering since the
Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald isn't going to be swayed or stopped by any of this and the 2006 elections will more than likely be after indictments....They are trying to save themselves with spin that won't make a damn bit of difference...If some of them were smart, they would split off from the zombies and use their brains and get on our bandwagon...because the spin is a losing cause, won't change a thing....
