Now the Republicans are saying: Rove did not refer to Valerie Plame
by name - he just mentioned she was a CIA Operative. This is even worse in my opinion.

1. Um...I don't know her name but she's married to that Wilson guy.
Yeah. That's quite an argument that they got there. Yeah.

3. Unless Wilson has multiple secret wives, that's still identifying her.
Like I said in another thread, if Wilson only has one wife and the marriage isn't completely secret, then there's no difference between saying "Valerie Plame is a spy" and saying "Wilson's wife is a spy."

4. They are just grabbing at straws, they have no defense. If you
hire a hit man to kill your wife and you tell the hit man kill my wife without saying her name, you will still be convicted of hiring a hit man to kill your wife.

6. That is a succinct, accurate analogy
But somehow the "liberal media" can't seem to figure this out.

7. He called her Wilson's wife
that would like me saying my husband, who shall remain nameless, is a mentored Dance leader in the Dances of Universal Peace.....

8. Wilson had his bio online.
CNN was showing how it mentioned his wifes FULL NAME.

It was her job that was a secret, not her name.

Rove outed her job, not her name

11. Randi Rhodes said it would have taken seconds to find her name w/Google
She did that when she first read about Wilson. She put in the search and found Valerie Plame's name immediately. The secret wasn't her name, but the fact that she was an operative for the CIA.

13. Rove didn't name her. Here's what actually happened.
Karl Rove and Bob Novak got together and played charades:

Rove holds up one finger.

Novak: "One word? It's one word."

Rove nods and points to an airplane flying overhead and then tugs at his ear.

Novak: "Sounds like? Airplane? Her name is airplane?"

Rove makes a cutting motion with one hand over the other.

Novak: "Shorter? Air? Her name is Air?"

Rove shakes his head, then flips his hands around.

Novak: "Plane. Plane? Her name is Plane?"

Rove pulls out a cigarette lighter and tugs at his ear again.

Novak: "Sounds like? Lighter? Her name is lighter?"

Rove shakes his head and motions towards the flame with his hand.

Novak: "Flame? Her name is Flame."

Rove sticks out his arms like he's flying and moves around like a plane.

Novak: "Plane again."

Rove nods and lights his lighter again.

Novak: "Flame? Plane flame? Her name is plane flame?"

Rove motions again with one finger and makes a cutting motion.

Novak: "One word. Plane and flame. Her name is Flane? That's her name? Flane?"

Rove shakes his head and twists his hands around.

Novak: "Plame? Plame. Her name is Plame. Plame!"

Rove smiles and nods rapidly.

16. I know the RepubliCONS never get into philosophy or nuthin
But why? What does that have to do with the price of yellow cake in Niger? It makes no sense. How does her working for the CIA give or not give credibility to Wilson? Oh yes..she got him the job..never been proven but even if.. so? Was she on the case to personally bring Bush down or something? Was Valerie Plame anti-war and going cause trouble? (apparently this ain't your Daddy's CIA) It's as if Rove said oh, "And her wife works for Michael Moore." Therefore, Wilson credibiltiy is damaged by bias. Bias by being married to a covert CIA expert?

Maybe things need to blow open and we need to find out that the CIA is our anti-war friend because otherwise me no understand.

Wilson's wife's status.
