John Gibson of Fox News: TRAITOR |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 07:23 PM by Beelzebud
http://www.dembloggers.com/story/2005/7/12/155925/579Watch this sack of human filth say that Rove should get a medal for outing Plame. This moron actually says: "Someone needed to out Plame, and Rove was the only one with the cajones to do it!" Un-fucking-believable. How low will these people go? Any myth of Fox News being a "news" outlet and not a propaganda outlet, should now be firmly debunked.

How will Bush reward Rove for all this??
Bush needed that niger < yellow-cake>statement to be included in his speech only to have to retract weeks later.

|
"someone needed to out Plame." What was he talking about? This might be very important and speak to their real motives, which I suspect were aimed right at Plame and her long time CIA WMD network, the goal of which was to give our government ACCURATE information on WMD proliferation. Cheney and assorted Bush crime lords didn't want accurate info. They wanted cooked info. And they also may have wanted something else--the eyes of honest agents and WMD contacts OFF what THEY were doing with WMDs. See what I mean? Sometimes these whackso let something slip. Did he give any hint?

What possible reason could he come up with for that? She was investigating WMDs at a time when the US was (supposedly) concerned about WMDs! :grr:
Hey Gibson ... you just stated, on a national broadcast, that an UNDERCOVER CIA OPERATIVE needed to be outed. I bet her colleagues are not very happy with you right now. By the way ... there are three rules of the universe:
1) You don't spit in the wind 2) You don't tug on Superman's cape
And ...
3) You never, EVER, piss off the CIA!

What I meant was ... what prompted that comment? What reason did Gibson give for his belief that Plame needed to be outed. Oh wait ... this is FOX. He probably didn't give any reason ... he made the statement knowing that his viewers would never dare ask him "why" :eyes:

Why does nobody personally CALL them on their repugnant bias? Do Faux's "news" personalities flat out refuse interviews or take them under the condition that they not be questioned about their politics?
I'd really love to know how these dickheads can logically be in a profession that's usually supposed to demand real answers from hardball questions and instead televise veiled editorials disgused as news reporting.
I don't know, I think it kind of defeats the whole purpose of being a journalist if it's obvious your objectivity blatantly isn't there.

You see, everyone knew that Plame was a CIA agent, but hypothetically if it had been a secret then Rove would have been the only one with the requisite cajones, which is why he kept those cajones so well hidden the last couple of years and didn't admit to being the "leak".

This one wins the award for the most daffy spin of the day. And the most mean spirited. It wasn't just dead wrong and deceptive, it was vindictive and desperate. To think Roger Ailes didn't see this "commentary" before it hit (hopefully he had enough time to finish it) is looking through Gibson's vapid eyes and see whose really behind those words and what they're meant to do.
This is damage control...red meat for the Wingnuts to keep them from asking real questions. Be assured this meme and "commentary" has already worked through the Freeper universe and has been aborbed into the blogs. Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson were out to get this nation...THEY were the Traitors. :puke:
Now, if that were the case, and both Plame and Wilson wanted to sabotage this corrupt regime...they had this knowledge and surely had many "friends" and sources that could have leaked a story that the Niger yellow cake claims were phony...as was other intel (Colin Powell...where are you???) why did they wait until a year after the invasion and months after Bunnypants SOTU to come forward? C'mon, riddle me that one, Batman...

America is a nation at WAR - remember 9-11??? Valerie Plume was in Africa as an undercover agent monitoring the amount of yellow-cake uranium leaving that country. She was protecting us from the possibility of WMDs being used against Americans.
So what does Karl Rove do? He discloses her identity. During a time of war. While she was protecting the homeland. If this isn't treasonous, then I don't know what is.
And John Gibson calls him a hero?????? Valerie Plame was the hero. Karl Rove belongs behind bars.
Fox news should be ashamed of Gibson's remarks. This is not politics. This is about the safety of the United States of America during the War on Terror!

|
Do these words, from Joe Wilson, sound like the words of a "peacenik"?
In 1990, while sheltering more than a hundred Americans at the U.S. Embassy and diplomatic residences, he briefed reporters while wearing a hangman's noose instead of a necktie -- a symbol of defiance after Hussein threatened to execute anyone who didn't turn over foreigners.
When asked why, he replied:
"If you want to execute me, I'll bring my own fucking rope."

49. Not only is Gibson a traitor, he's completely misrepresenting the facts. |
|
The Senate Intelligence Committee report (not to be confused with the 9/11 Commission report, which doesn't mention Wilson or Niger) did not "debunk" Wilson's report in any way, shape or form. A partisan addendum authored by Roberts, Bond and Hatch takes issue with a few minor points of Wilson's report, but does not challenge its essence--that there's no compelling evidence that Saddam tried to acquire uranium from Niger. Gibson is the lowest of the low--a propagandist posing as a journalist. May he contract an incurable strain of gonorrhea.

67. He put more crudely what other spinners imply |
|
That whoever let it be known Wilson's wife was with the CIA had to do it to put Wilson's report in context. Just a junket set up by his wife for this unqualified liberal whose report was discredited, he is no one to listen to. "Outing" her was just putting it in context and then they go into how there was no crime at all.
I didn't hear gibson but I'm sure the medal is about someone having to show why this man went there and didn't have to be listened to.
The RNC Chairman is on shows saying all these things too so it must be the talking points. He was actually corrected when he said the report was false, discredited. The interviewer interrupted to say that no it wasn't discredited, just not conclusive.
They really are spinning and still trying to discredit Wilson, his motives and qualifications and his report. Some even say the report supported bush, some say he slammed bush IN the report (not after Niger was used in war speech). Some have said if it was such a big secret why did she tell Wilson when they were just dating, no wonder everyone knew.
I turned CNN on at about 3 PM today and ended up keeping it on for hours as it seemed like the 24 hour Rove station and only Republican spinners were dismissive, not the news people. Amazing.
I am hoping it is breaking the dam, that wall of unquestioning and it leads to harder looks on all the issues.

Sir, You must have been mistaken when you said that Karl Rove deserved a medal for the outing of CIA undercover agent Valerie Plame. As you well know, Mr. Rove's motivation for revealing her name was as retaliation for her husband Joe Wilson's exposing that the story about Iraq's attempts to purchase uranium from Niger for nuclear weapons (mentioned in George W. Bush's State of the Union address) was false. This 'knowingly' false information was one of many pieces of 'false' information used as a reason for going to war pre-emptively with Iraq.
Rove does deserve metal however, in the form of handcuffs, when he is marched out of the White House in disgrace and under arrest for his treasonous and duplicitous acts against the good people of the United States of America. He is traitor afterall.

60. For John Gibson of Fox News to say that "Someone needed |
|
to out Plame," is not a traitorous act. Fox News is not an American News outlet. Now if Plame had been an Australian covert operative, then it would have been traitorous.

64. Here's my letter to Fox "news" |
|
Fox "News" person John Gibson has made many egregious, right-wing-biased statements (what a surprise!) but his comment today about Karl Rove being "the only one with the cojones" to out Valerie Plame, is outrageous to say the least. It may even cross the line into treason on its own merits - how special! The White House repeatedly denied that Rove was involved (although many have long suspected otherwise) and now it appears that this administration has lied to the American people yet again about an issue of national security. Bush stated unequivocally that anyone in his administration found to be involved in this incident would be no longer a part of it. If Bush has any clue as to the meaning of the words "honor and dignity" he must stand by that statement. John Gibson is pathetic in his assertion that Rove deserves a medal. What, like George Tenet, who did such a terrible job as CIA director that he was fired, yet was later awarded the nation's highest civilian honor?? I think not. We are supposedly at war against terrorism. It's obvious that the terror the Bush administration fears most is truth. Valerie Plame was serving her country honorably by providing truth to those in power. Those in power chose to ignore that truth since it was not "fixed around the policy." Now Rove has been outed himself, and the size of his cojones is microscopic compared to those of Judith Miller, who chose honor and jail.
Carl Cameron should have been fired for his fake "news" story about John Kerry. Brit Hume should be fired for inhuman indecency for saying that his first thought after the bombings in London was, "Hmmm, time to buy." (How telling. And how very Republican of him.) O'Reilley is nothing more than an arrogant, loudmouthed shill for the right wing. And now comes Gibson's latest outrage. You ought to be sued for false advertising for your little "fair and balanced" tagline; what a joke. Your station marches in lock-step with the right wing extremists who are running this country I love straight into the ground. Fox's output should best be described as fraudcast.
If you have any regard for integrity, truth, journalistic standards, or common American decency, Gibson will be summarily and publicly dismissed. Then it might be time for the rest of the "news" crew there to pay some attention to the same ideals. They are sorely absent in all of you.

I think this is not just a case of discrediting the Wilsons, but of trying to discredit the entire CIA. I am around a lot of Repubs (yeah, I'm in IN) who have nothing good to say about the CIA. By starting here, they are trying to spin a wedge through the public's view of the CIA.

is that every time he opens his mouth, something stupid falls out. This "news reporter" never fails to amaze me. With people like him employed by the mainstream media, I can understand why people confuse bloggers for being part of the press corps. We're doing their job for them!

74. It's part of a common pattern |
|
I had a rather RW friend and she used this tactic from time to time and now I've seen other wingernuts do it on TV and in the internet. Once, in the ninties, it became obvious that many of the new Republican congressmen were rather crude in manner. When I pointed it out to my friend at first she denied it, then finally admitted their behavior was rude and vulgar, but said, Maybe rude and vulgar behavior are what we need.
When the story about Rush's criminal drug abuse came out it was the same thing. Oh, no, Rush would never do such a thing! Somehow, in the end, he bacame a victim and then a hero.
They deny, attack the source of information, minimize the charges, and sometimes spin the horrid into a positive.

84. What justification was given for the need to out a covert CIA agent? |
|
Why did someone have to out this Covert Agent? Did the outing save America from the proliferation of WMDs, since that was what she was engaged in. I think he needs to be called on this and the sooner the better. this must be nipped in the bud NOW.

86. My Letter (Emailed to Gibson and Snailed to FOXNews) |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 09:58 AM by MJDuncan1982
July 13, 2005
To Whom It May Concern:
This morning (Wednesday, July 13, 2005), on FOXNews.com, I read John Gibson’s article Karl Rove Should Get A Medal. The publication concerned the allegation that Karl Rove blew the cover of Valerie Plame. Mrs. Plame was an undercover agent working for the CIA. In his article, Mr. Gibson says that she “should have been outed by somebody.” An employee of your network is advocating the outing of a member of the intelligence community. This is an unforgivable position to take. The United States is engaged in an international war on terror and it is not conducive to the security of this nation to have members of the President’s staff blowing the cover of our undercover agents.
Mr. Gibson’s rationale is that Mrs. Plame sent her husband, Joe Wilson, to Niger to investigate a claim made by the government that Saddam Hussein had at one point attempted to purchase ‘yellow cake,’ a possible ingredient for WMD, from that country. Mr. Gibson claims that Mr. Wilson was “opposed to the war in Iraq” and that this is the reason that his wife sent him to Niger. Mr. Gibson says that Mrs. Plame deserves to be outed because her actions can be viewed as “an attempt to influence national policies.”
Giving Mr. Gibson the benefit of the doubt and assuming that everything he claims about Mrs. Plame and Mr. Wilson is true, his view is still utterly reprehensible. These are issues that need to be dealt with within the CIA and/or intelligence community. The one way that I am sure is NOT the way to deal with such a situation is by revealing the identity of a member of the United States intelligence community.
Mr. Gibson says that where he comes from, the identity of Mrs. Plame should be revealed. Mr. Gibson must not come from the United States because in this country you do not work against national security and undermine our war on terror.
I recommend that Mr. Gibson, at the very least, be reprimanded for his comments and, most appropriately, be fired.
Respectfully,
|

I posted this in the New York forum, 'cause Congressman King is from there. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=169x3766King appeared on Joe Scarborough's Nazi Country show last night (July 12, 2005) when he said this and other outrageous stuff, such as: let's shoot Tim Russert and the media. Sounds like another culty talking point. These radical wingers all sing from the same hymnal. Here's a link to the Nazi Country show's transcript: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8551822/

Wow, you are an idiot.
I find it deplorable that you think outting a CIA operative is a good thing. You need to do some reading buddy because your "looks" wont last forever (or whatever got you that job).
It's appalling that you think putting people's lives in jeopardy is less important than following the party line.
Shame on you.
