Nostalgia time
Remember the good old days for BushCo when we were all labeled traitors and were told to leave Amurikka?

Remember when there were WMDs?

Remember when Bill Maher was on our side?

Remember when Ann Coulter incessantly called us "whiners"?

Remember when we didn't know Rush was on drugs?

And who can forget the "embeds"? (I still get sad when I think of NBC's David Bloom, killed for nothing along with nearly 1800 soldiers.)

Take a few moments and post a memory or two here.

2. Remember when...
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 08:25 PM by teknomanzer
All we had to worry about was tax cuts for the top 1%

How shitty the economy was...

Brown outs in California and the 'energy crisis'...

Enron...

The Taliban blowing up Buddhas...

Bush's extremely long summer vacation on the pig farm...

Remember how gleeful we were the first time his poll numbers dropped to the 40's...

Remember how we were eagerly discussing the impending release of the independent report on the 2000 election the night before?

Remember how the next morning everything changed?

(shit, now I need a drink... thanks for making me remember...)

Folks Bush is still in office, it may look like a shit storm has descended on his ass, and THIS is the scandal that will undo him, but we've said it before... I'm hoping for the best, but I'm prepared for the worst.

6. Remember Sept.11th 2001
When their were no Democrats,no Republicans or Independents just united Americans the Chimperor scored big that day but the same chimp soon squandered that unity with his illegal invasion of Iraq. Not to forget he left Afganistan without the head of Osama.

Smoke them out of their holes...

MISSION ACCOMLISHED...

All major combat operations were over...

How about this one...

Remember when all those gleeful Iraqis were throwing flowers to our triumphant soldiers on the day of their liberation?

9. I remember pre-9/11
when people on other boards called me a "Scare-o-crat inventing terrorist bogeymen." They said if terrorists attacked here, we'd just annihilate them with bombs.

When I said they're networks that span many countries, and don't leave return addresses or wear uniforms, they asked me if I wanted to buy a bridge.

When I told them Bush was going backwards to 1980s thinking about "WMDs from rogue nations," they said I was willing to let an ICBM hit the US, while looking behind bushes for "phantom terrorists."

And when I predicted that Bush would get us into a war in the Middle East by the end of his term, and that my guess was it'd be Iraq -- saying repeatedly "Mark My Words" -- they asked if I saw black helicopters, too.

I should have taken bets.

Those were the good old days -- before these IDIOTS used their own failures as if they were successes, before they killed and maimed thousands, before they set us on a track toward fascism and endangered us all with propaganda about Faith and Security. Before they convinced the idiots that Good was Bad and Lies were Truth and Fear was Strength and Failure was Success. They were Idiots back then, but now they're complete and total misguided brainwashed hardheaded "MORANS."

12. Gawd I remember doing battle on the boards too
No matter what I told those morans, no matter what truths were presented, they would not listen.

That's why I especially remember finding solace here at DU. *sigh*

14. Are you a veteran of the 2000-2001 AOL boards too?
They were idiotic then, and they got worse. By 2002, it was like reading badly-spelled transcripts of Rove's blastfaxes.

15. Not an AOL vet...but I frequented lots of other boards
I hung out at my local regressive radio station's boards (WLS Chicago--their boards were shut down when the truth started seeping through). I also did the local NBC boards along with several others.

So much tripe was posted it was unreal. It was encouraging though, to see these people lose their spunk when it became evident there were no WMD. Now we are seeing a full blown shift.

I really think doing battle on the internet does changes minds and hearts. I know I educated a lot of people, much of that because I got the scoop here at DU. Keep up the good fight! :hi:

17. Remember when you thought we might of actually had a chance
of winning the presidency back.

Then we remembered again that elections are stolen not won.
