I think Bush is going to thumb his nose at us yet again....
Well, in honesty I think that Bush is going to fumble along on what he sees as the path of least resistance-- dogged determinism, even in the face of disaster-- but the result is essentially the same. I'd be willing to bet that he's going to stonewall totally-- and immovably-- on Rove, even if the turd blossom is indicted. I think he's also going to give Bolton a recess appointment, and he's going to nominate an utter fascist to the SCOTUS.

2. Bush does what the hell he pleases. So far, he has gotten away with it.
He is hoping the people with common sense will go away.

6. "He is hoping ..."
Too bad for him, some sense is actually being talked into the DUH-bya camp. I sense a shift to more independent thought in certain circles.

4. This was discussed in another thread

I was reminded that Ken Starr said a president can be held accountable to what he says, including anything said to the press. I'm sure he has been advised of this, so, we get nothing.

But, the silence keeps the press in hot pursuit of answers so he is essentially screwed either way!

9. screwed how...?
Unless Congress actually impeaches him, or simply stops cooperating with him, which I see little sign of, he's simply unpopular. The neocon rat bastards spent the nineties in the wilderness-- this is nothing to them. All they want is power, and they have that. The ONLY thing he has to fear, other than impeachment, is losing a republican congressional majority, or even a strong lead, in the 2006 elections. And even that wouldn't be a disaster as long as they don't impeach him-- his social security scam is already dead in the water, congress is VERY unlikely to buck his foreign policy madness, and he's already gotten damn nearly everything else he wanted. Bolton will give him the key to destablizing the U.N. As long as he has a republican majority in the senate he can get his judge(s) into the SCOTUS with the nuclear option. There's still the PATRIOT Act, I suppose, but the wingnuts will likely chip away on that one anyway if they don't get it all at once.

I'm going to bed. Thinking about this is depressing!

10. Never underestimate the power of the press
Perhaps in this case, they will start to finally put the pieces together. Think positive.;-)

5. yeah, he might do all that
but I live in a very conservative area of California and am personal friends with a lot of down-to-earth old fashioned Repubs who are not happy at all with anything he is doing.
So yeah, he might do all that, and piss them off even more.......and can he get the Repubs in the Senate and the House to push through his agenda if his approval rating is in the low 40s or high 30s and they feel like they have to distance themselves from the W to get re-elected?

8. I am just very curious
to hear what he finally has to say about all this, that is if he ever says anything about it? You know eventually he is going to have to...
