But Rove did reveal her identity
The Rove supporters keep reverting to, "he didn't reveal her name".
Doesn't the law state that you cannot reveal an identity of a CIA officer?

He revealed what she did and where she worked and that is truly the biggest crime to me. Also Rove revealed her hubby. Now any Google search will bring up her name.

WTF is going on here? How much more guilty does someone have to be?

1. "NAME" is irrelevant; any identifying info makes it a crime.
"Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982"

" Whoever, having or having had authorized access
to classified information that identifies a covert agent,
intentionally discloses any information identifying such covert agent
to any individual not authorized to receive classified information..."

3. The "He didn't use her name" excuse is lame & childish.
I'm sure a judge wouldn't buy it.

7. Because he doesn't have any defense.
Unless he wants to use the mars bar defense.

6. This is a defense for the Press not for a judge I would guess
If and when he gets before a judge I imagine his defense will be more along the murky area of whether or not she was a covert operative and whether or not he knew she was a covert operative. Which frankly may very well be enough to get him off.

8. Doublespeak hinges on lying while technically speaking truth
It's a running theme with BushCo statementmaking. Bush usually pats the podium when he does it while speechifying. Karen Hughes often does it with a pleading tone, as if begging you to buy it. Rove often does it with a shit eating grin on his face. Cheney does it with a scowl. Rumsfeld does it with a sneer. Rice does it with abject evil in her eyes. Wolfowitz does it with fear in his.

Brave New Orwellian World.

Feel safer?

9. Soon That Won't Matter...
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 08:07 AM by KharmaTrain
Keep your eye on the ball here. We're in the real last stages of the value of Plame and Wilson in this matter. Soon this scandal will walk in a totally different, and far more interesting direction.

Proving Rove or anyone (chenney cough cough) outed Plame knowingly in violation of the '92 and other laws was doing to be a very difficult job at best. IMHO this was the gamble this regime took by giving into political pressure and bringing in Fitzgerald to investigate. They thought that after a few months of poking around, Fitzgerald would find that he couldn't find that type of crime and the whitewash would be complete.

Something's happened on the way to the vindication. Someone lied and/or pissed Fitzgerald off. Someone(s) prevented Fitzgerald from finding out who could have leaked the name...lying and impeding the investigation...things known as perjury and conspiracy. Now it's not the question as to if Plame's name was leaked or her role as a NCC or Joe Wilson's politics (we can come back to that later), this will soon turn to who withheld information or lied to Fitzgerald.

To use the Clenis metaphor...Plame/Wilson is the blowjob, Rove and others will be tried on the lie.

I will delight in the total confusing when Fitzgerald hands one or several contempt, perjury or (dreaming, dreaming dreaming) conspiracy indictments. Then let the real fun begin. The synergy will sweep them all away.

10. He will get a medal and a promotion
Shred... Dude, you know that Bush gives out the Medal of Freedom to the worst of the worst criminals... As Jon Stewart said last night Rove will now be appointed to the Supreme Court.

Turd Blossom is guilty of all sorts of crap. Scott McClellan looked like he was going to start crying when the press started acting like real journalists for the first time in 4 and a half years. Did McClellan say anything????

No. He was robot-o-tron man. I can not comment. I can not comment. I can not comment.

I hate to tell him this but as Press Secretary, it is his JOB to comment. That is what he is supposed to do. These GOP a-holes are so secretive and now the shit is flying. The new talking point is "The democrats are making the Rove thing into a political attack."

Oh, really? Maybe because it is political and he is a turd blossom, liar and the lap dog, puppet master of Bush.

I know that is insulting so I apologize to all the dogs reading this post.
